Le Bouchon in Maldon

Outstanding. Every member of staff I came in to contact with was friendly and helpful. The evening function was well managed, and the food was superb. Breakfast too was excellent. Highly recommended.

The staff could not have done any more for us as we celebrated our Diamond Wedding anniversay on Thursday 31st March. The food was was excellent also. So thank you all at the le Bouchone for a wonderful time.

I will admit I was a bit taken aback by the setting (or lack of it) as you set eyes on the hotel/restaurant for the first time. This is quickly changed once you walk into the lovely entrance of the hotel. The whole restaurant area is beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times when we were there on Saturday. We had an afternoon tea and although there was nothing wrong with it, I can honestly say it was one of the most basic afternoon teas I have had for a long time in that you only got two choices of sandwich - cheese or egg?? Being gluten free there were also 2 choices of bellini although we were not sure of the topping. The gf cakes were lovely. Our plates of afternoon tea were served minus the scones? We had to ask for them and were told that they would bring them out once it seemed that everyone wanted one and after we had eaten the sandwiches and cakes. I haven't had been told that before. The scones (1 each) eventually came out. The gluten free scones were the worse cooked gf scones I have ever had. Apart from that as I mentioned the area was beautifully decorated and the staff were very polite, well mannered and attentive. The staff are the reason why I gave a 4 star review. Well done everyone :-) As i always say in my reviews you should always try and visit the venue yourself and just gauge from reviews whether it sounds a lovely place to visit.

This was our third visit . On stay and dine . Choose a king size room ,had loads of room . Staff were friendly and the food was excellent. Would recommend it even just for afternoon tea, looking forward to next visit . Atmosphere in restaurant was relaxing .

I've had much better food. Most of the staff are lovely. One was rude & patronising, he completely ruined my experience, we were there for a 70th birthday. I would never go back. I don't know about hotel as I've never stayed.

Put second visit and this was even better than last time. Restaurant was nice a busy, service very good, really looked after my daughters allergies. We learnt from last visit and did not order all of the prestarters and extras. Prestart fresh oysters were very good but missed the cooked oysters we had on first visit.

We had a delicious meal here. The service was warm and friendly and the food was delicious. As a vegetarian, I am often disappointed with the unimaginative options, but this was certainly not the case here. The starter of figs with blue cheese was very tasty and the harissa cauliflower was delicious. My partner had fish dishes for starters and main course, which he really enjoyed. He also enjoyed his dessert. Price-wise, I thought it was excellent value considering the high quality of the food

Stayed here for two nights. Restaurant is excellent. Our king sized bed was amazingly comfy. Power sockets are a bit scarce though, so maybe bring an extension lead if you're charging gadgets.

Lovely place, really helpful and accommodating staff. We were stay and dine package, which covers the room and meal for two. Drinks are not included, but are reasonable.Food quality cannot be faulted. Chef went above and beyond to help cater for our requirements.
