Only had drinks, but they were served with a smile and good service. The SA red served by the glass was really good. Stylish decor. Worth a visit

Love the garlic bread ciabatta. Good service, don’t feel like the staff try too hard when talking to you, which is good - they talk to you like they know you and really naturally.

On a short trip to mordon we drove passed and it looked so cozy we had to pop In. So glad we did what a great place. The food was spot on and large portions. Very chilled vibes the staff was all young but was great with service. Friendly and attentive. Must have been good as we went back the next day

Had a lovely breakfast here with my son. The food was very good and well made. Met two staff members, one was very welcoming and friendly, the other one somewhat short in his answers, but service from him was also sufficient. I give for stars since the accessibility of the place isn't great. That can't really be helped by the owners as it is a very old building (and probably grade listed)

Very disappointed, warm Cappacino, wrong order got Sausage Sandwich instead of Bacon. This was also warm, sent it back for them to have a discussion about it and then came back just slightly warmer.I would honestly not rush back. Very disappointed.

Have visited the OakHouse many times over the last few years and always really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately the last few times it’s really gone downhill, with our last visit being a complete sham. The staff are extremely young and lack any form of training or adult supervision. We ordered drinks and when they arrived one drink was not what we asked for, we didn’t mind as mistakes are made and it was no problem. I didn’t like the way the waitress served the drinks to our table with her fingers around the rim of every glass, that’s bad etiquette anyway let alone in these covid times, I don’t really want someone else’s fingers around the rim of my glass. We ordered our mains after a long wait for the waitress to return to our table, only for two meals to be brought out completely wrong and not what we ordered. We then had to wait another 30 minutes for the correct meals to be cooked whilst the other people at our table had to awkwardly eat their meals in front of the others who had no food. We had to repeatedly ask the staff how much longer the meals would be and was told 2 minutes each time which of course wasn’t the case. We then sat with our table full of finished plates and drinks for another 30 minutes waiting for someone to clear them and to be able to order more drinks and dessert, the staff are not forthcoming in checking things are ok or if you need anything else, you have to keep grabbing them when they are walking past in order to be served. We then ordered dessert and yes, two of those were served up wrong too. Just unbelievably bad service, the place isn’t exactly cheap and you don’t expect this sort of service here. We won’t be coming back any more.

Great food and staff. However I did not like that they add a service charge and place it on the customer to embarrass themselves to ask for it to be removed. I believe tips should be earned and not presumed. That said I would have left a tip as it was a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

The busiest place in Maldon to go to, music was on from an on site DJ, lots of tables and reasonably priced drinks. Very loud club atmosphere which I don't think necessarily works for the venue, they'd be better turning down the music slightly and treat it like a bar.Would come again however.

Went here for lunch in June on a Tuesday and was relatively busy, we booked a table outside and glad for the reservation. Menu was very varied and had loads of great sounding stuff, we had the smoked salmon risotto, chicken pesto penne and scampi and chips. All the dishes were great, esp the scampi and the risotto, generous sized portions and well seasoned. Washed it down with a variety of g&ts and cold pints of cloudy cider. Would definitely go back next time I'm in the area!
