Ocean in Maldon

We’ve tried this place a few times, just to see if it was a one off or not.. Always forgets food and expects us to pay extra for them to bring it. The food is not fresh and doesn’t taste very nice.

Have up until now had very good meals from ocean, and have told them so. I recently ordered a meal from there. What a process, they didn't answer the phone (which is unprofessional if open for business) and the food was over priced and inedible. The curry was watery with no flavour. The rice noodle was thick noodles and not fresh the list goes on.Since Covid it seems everywhere is putting their prices up and lowering the quality and standards. It just isn't worth the money..

Absolutely the best chinese takeout by far, moved from Yorkshire and tried many before having this place recommended. Not yet been lucky enough to eat inside but as soon as lock down is lifted we will be sure to go.

We had heard good things so thought we would try it. We placed the order at 6.37pm, they told us food would be an hour which we thought was quite a while but it was a Friday night so we understood. At around 7.55pm we phoned as it still hadn't arrived. They told us it hadn't even been processed so they will push it through now and will be 20 mins. It finally arrived at 9pm, luke warm. We hoped that after spending £37 and the food being over 2 hours we thought we would at least get some money off or something thrown in for free. Nope, not even a bottle of drink, just the prawn crackers.

Ordered food on a recommendation and it was fab. 100% tasty. Not too oily and freshly prepared. Yummmmyyyyyy

This place used to be very good. Over the last year prices have increased, menu choices lessened, and food quality/taste not as good as it used to be. We used to look forward to our visits despite the 35 minute journey, but after our last two visits - the latest today - we've decided it's no longer worth putting ourselves to travel there. Bottom line is, if you're in Maldon and fancy Chinese food, it's worth a look in. Sadly though, it's no longer as special as it used to be and you can probably get better Chinese food elsewhere.

Popped in on Sunday lunchtime and had the buffet option. Service was fast and professional, but what amazed me was the speed of the food being cooked. Everything tasted lovely and was presented well. I'll definetly be back

Nice food, and good value. Service ok but staff didn't seem very friendly.

I would be surprised to notice that they serve a very fresh buffet.There's a lot you can order out of the menu.. and they don't mind at all!Amazing staff and efficiency close to 100%.For bodybuilders or men who wish to gain a great body.. eat here after an intense workout.. You'll be assured of gains in muscle!
