Steam Pump Tearoom in Maldon

Lovely place. Had the full English & tea, delicious. Some of the museum attractions are outside, so you can see them as you come in/out. Nice gardens to enjoy whilst eating.

We booked a table for a 4 year olds birthday. They went above and beyond to make our birthday lunch special.Ive eaten in here 3 or 4 times now and the food is consistently good. Definitely worth a visit. You can walk the grounds and visit the museum next door too.

Very nice cafe in a really laid back location food was lovely and the staff were superb really friendly shall definitely be back again , great place to ride out to or stop in for a cuppa , also some really good events held here throughout the year here so well worth a visit an some quirky pics to be had here also

Great little tea room located in the Museum of Power serving teas and food,excellent breakfasts.

I should keep this a secret but how nice to go somewhere without the crowds and have a great English breakfast in such interesting surrounding, I will be back.

Really nice and relaxing environment. Lovely food and drink at the tea room with friendly and helpful staff. Be patient if they get busy as there is only one chef in a small kitchen, but it's worth the wait. Staff pointed us in the direction of a nice public footpath walk by the river.

After a cycle ride of 2 hours my Husband and I fancied a pot of Tea and maybe cake at our local Museum of power used many years previously. Seeing that Covid is still around and being of the older generation we chose a table in the shade under the trees across the footpath from cafe door keeping cycles out of the way. Respecting distancing away from others as seats fairly busy under the canopy and around the entrance. However we were told that where we were sitting we could not have a pot of tea it was paper cups only. So obviously we left and will take our buisness elsewhere. Cyclists be ware !!!

Just back from the loveliest time! The Steam Pump Tea Rooms are in such a beautiful setting. My friend and I sat outside, where I had a delicious cooked veggie breakfast and coffee. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her American pancakes. Later, I had a slice of the Victoria sponge made by Sam, the owner/manager. The piece was huge - but so light, I managed it all! Yummy! Sam is so friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommended.

Had a post lockdown full English breakfast outside on the spacious terrace of this quirky building set in landscaped grounds of the Museum of Power on the way in to Maldon from Hatfield Peverel.Breakfast well cooked with good quality ingredients, nicely presented and served by friendly staff.Plenty of parking, the opportunity to visit the museum or just stroll around the gardens or to venture a little further to see Beeleigh Falls.Highly recommended.

Wow, what a find! We were making the most of a mild autumn day outside when we stumbled across The Steam Pump Tea Room. The tea room is conveniently located alongside the museum in the former Langford Pumping Station, and the building has been beautifully restored to serve these new purposes. The homemade Victoria sponge was delicious (and a huge slice!), and the Terry's Chocolate Orange hot chocolate was out of this world and something I've never seen offered in any other cafe!
