Popped in for a quick drink after our walk and enjoyed a really nice coffee and a pint, served by a very nice girl behind the bar,

I visited this establishment today ( 28/2/22) the Pub is in a lovely old village and is absolutely charming , i must say the ale was very enjoyble and obviously looked after well. I ordered a meal which arrived promptly and was delicious. Staff very friendly and i would highly recommend a visit

Had a great meal here, walked the costal path from Haybridge Basin to here and had a really nice hot lunch and shared a dessert, plus drinks Aspells my favourite suffolk cider. The pud had a nice friendly atmosphere and the staff were super friendly as well. The bar counter in the main bar is rather quirky as it is quite low down but set at the right height for the staff, this just adds to the atmosphere of a English village pub.Highly recommended 👍

Just what a country pub should be. Quaint & cozy with a roaring fire, welcoming staff & good food. We were here for lunch & had the jumbo fish & chips…delicious. The pub does have a car park but we walked from Heybridge Basin. A great 5 mile walk, mostly flat, along the coastal path. There are a couple of cafes about 2 miles out from Heybridge Basin, so you can break the walk if required. Beware that, unless you want to walk back as we did, the buses are infrequent & taxis aren’t always available. It’s an awesome 10 miles round trip walk with a great pub lunch in the middle.

Amazing pub grub. Simply the best pub lunch I have ever had. You must go here in the winter when each bar has a fire. And if you do a local walk near the Blackwater its even better. Did I mention the beer. Great choice.

Lovely little pub. Perfect stop off after a walk along the sea wall. Great food and lovely spot for a coffee especially if you sit out the front and watch the world go by.

Stopped here for lunch on a lovely Sunday lunch time. As the weather was good, the pub was very busy. Found a table in the garden /patio area which suited us with 3 dogs. Dogs are allowed inside too in most areas. Large selection of food. We had mushroom and brie ciabata which came with salad and lattice fries. Nice salad and dressing. Food came out really quickly. Sometimes a worry when that is the case but everything seemed hot and fresh. Inside the building is quirky and historic. There is parking across the road specifically for patrons which was quite muddy in places. Lovely area for walking your dog at. We walked along the sea wall.
