The Chequers, Wickham Bishops in Maldon

Had a wonderful 3 course meal at Olio At the Chequers. The service was very good and the food was also very good. Great price and the portions are pretty big! We will definitely return to this restaurant in Wickham Bishops.

Lunch with good friends saturday lunchtime. Absolutely excellent in every way. Great atmosphere, menu choices vast, food superb, as was the service from David and the team. No hesitation in recommending Olio at the Chequers to anyone. Will be back there soon!!

Food and service was 1st class as is always we've found everytime we dine. Disappointing some clowns in their 4x4's thought it 'big' to take up four spaces in the car park - it was really hammering it down with rain had to park way down the road and get soaked on the way back. Hopefully Olio's will monitor the car parking a little more closely in future, pulling the selfish sods up.

The food was amazing. Will be back, hopefully very soon.

Incredible meal. The Ribeye was the best I have ever had. Fantastic portion sizes too. The service was also excellent. Very well done Olios

Noisy, no light above our table to read the menu. Tables too close together so having a waiters back too close whilst serving the next two tables. Fillet steak and linguine not the best quality. Had one starter between two, two mains, no deserts and a bottle of wine - bill came to £87, too expensive for what it was

Absolutely amazing dinning experience. Everything was excellent, nice place and location, the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, the menu is superb and the food is cooked to perfection and well presented - faultless. Highly recommend

Olio at the checkers Wickham Bishops exceeded all expectations! The food was out of this world as was the service provided. All staff there were very welcoming, attentive, and the barman hand delivering our drinks was a nice personal touch. We reserved a table for 12 for a Birthday gathering and they was super accommodating allowing us to drop off balloons and cake prior to our arrival and sit down time. If you’re after a superb 10/10 palette and a lovely atmosphere this restaurant is most definitely the one for you!! Their food was fantastic and food arrival time was exceptional.Thanks Guys!Will deffo be seeing you again sometime soon 👍🏻

Been here tonight for my birthday dinner. It is absolutely outstanding. The service is impeccable, very friendly and welcomimg. The food is absolutely stunning, I honestly cannot rate it enough, if I could give more than 5 stars I would! Go you will not be disappointed!
