Really nice for the kids, with a large play area. It's set back off the country road, with a very relaxing feel. Food is good, service too, but a long wait for food was the only minor negative. If this was a winters day, it might have been a different rating as the hot sunny day allowed for pleasant wait in the sun...

Without exaggeration this was the best roast I have ever had, and I love roasts. I would give this pub six stars if I could. The playground outside was great for keeping the kids occupied. The grounds it was in were good for hide and seek with a spacious car park. The pub itself had lots of lovely period features. The serving team were attentive and friendly and the food was absolutely top notch with enormous portions, no compromise here.We will definitely be back and we will bring friends.

Expensive Sunday lunch. Waited quite a while but it was busy and the veg was lovely and fresh so didn’t mind that. My dinner was nice but my partners roast beef was tough and we brought it home for the dog.

High expectations, however, sadly disappointed.Grubby looking interior, stained table mats stuck to dirty table.Chose roast of the day x2. Offered considerable choice of meats, which was concerning as what pub has 5 joints available daily?Food arrived. Ample amount of meat tho quality questionable. Impressive choice of seasonal veg - tho not cooked particularly well. Almost rock hard Aunt Bessie type Yorkshire puds, soft/dark in colour roast potatoes & all swimming in gravy - which saved the meal, tbh, as most of the food tasted better with it! Sachets of horseradish!! Condiments in a dish please!TV blaring in the corner of the pub restaurant, don't want to watch Eastenders at home, certainly don't want to hear it whilst out for dinner! If you want to take a pet &/or young children to their pub garden with play equipment, might be nice on a warm day but suggest you stick to drinks & a packet of crisps! Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

The food and ambiance was first class, will definitely be eating there again. Our son's big birthday was made extra special as they decorated the restaurant for him, and made his day even more special, Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic, such a warm friendly welcome when popped in for lunch after traveling up from Southampton. Lunch was lovely so decided to return for evening meal once again wonderful service and food, all home cooked , huge portions, chef is amazing to get all the food cooked , they like most pubs have staff shortages so wait is a little longer but soo worth it

My wife had a Sunday Roast Lamb dinner with roast potatoes and I had a Homemade Steak and Kidney pie with chips. Mixed veg appeared - with five different veg! Both meals were absolutely delicious, huge portions – my wife couldn’t get over the amount of meat - and fantastic value. Staff were attentive and smiling. We will be going back soon! Wish we lived a bit closer.

Lovely old fashioned, well run pub in a lovely setting. Food is superb and freshly cooked. I think it would be hard to beat to be honest. 5* all the way.

This place is a gem. Staff are extremely friendly and kind. We felt like old friends at this place. The food comes out piping hot and absolutely delicious. When they say “be careful the plates are hot” they have taken extra care to ensure your plate stays hot for a long time so you can relax and enjoy your meal so DO NOT TOUCH THE PLATEThe exterior is very family friendly and is a great set up for kids of all ages and their parents alike. This visit (our second of many) was a success for the entire family and not only were all the plates cleared but the kids were exhausted. We can’t wait to book again.
