Chequers Inn in Mid Suffolk

Attended an after Christening celebration in a downstairs room. Buffet food was very good, also had a good selection of vegan foods too.

Lovely girls lunch date. Great choices of food & drinks. Very friendly & helpful staff.

Absolutely amazing Sunday roast. Went on the off chance and was not disappointed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food amazing beef just melted in your mouth. Will be back when in Ipswich again.

My daughter and myself had Sunday roast here today we rarely get out together as she has 3 young children. The roast was delicious and lots of it but found room for dessert. Definitely will go again 😋

Went for Sunday lunch , husband had a chicken roast dinner and I had a hog roast with chips. Most of my chips weren't cooked and were inedible, husband's chicken looked liked they'd picked the worst bits and put them on the plate. We were seated next to the corridor to the toilets which wasn't so much of an issue as we didn't book however a short time after we arrived a large group of young boys arrived and congregated around tables surrounding us. We were eating our dinner whilst one of these young boys stood next to our table with his back to us. Very loud and not ideal for people looking for a quiet lunch. When it came to paying there was issues with the card machine and instead of offering to come to the table when it was finished processing the last sale I stood at the bar waiting to be told I could pay. When asked if everything was ok I explained about the chips and all I got was sorry and the bill amount and card machine given to me. Used to enjoy going here for meals but doubt we'll be back. Very unorganised and the food isn't worth the money.

I went for Christmas dinner at the Chequers yesterday, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was good, and the hospitality tremendous - they're definitely doing something right! Good roast, and great apple pie. Thank you :)

Awful quite frankly.....Food took 1 hr 10 mins to arrive. There was only 1 person taking orders, serving drinks & delivering food! She did fantastic job under the curcumstances!! Food & drinks were extremely over priced & there were more chips than actual meal/meat.A special of 'king ribs' were ordered.....delivered was 1/2 rack of baby ribs £15.95....ripped off is an understatement. Pie of the day £14.95.....extortionate & never have I been charged £6.80 for a glass of wine before!! Most certainly won't be returning, or recommending!!!

Excellent food and service. Accommodated a party of six half an hour after ringing up to book. All of us had three courses and every course was excellent. The best meal out in a long time. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We didn't wait around in between courses, they noticed when you had empty beer glasses. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Very nicely done Gastro pub. Food is very nice and home made as far as I can tell. We will definitely go back and try other dishes from the extensive menu. Looking forward to going back in all honesty. The people were really friendly. We went for a quick lunch during the week.
