No one on reception when we arrived just a notice telling us to go to the bar which was a bit difficult with our suitcase. The girl behind the bar was pleasant but we got to the room I was really shocked by the condition of it. Our view was a chipboard hoarding just feet from the window which had broken latches. The curtains were ragged and as thin as bed sheets. The mattress was so worn it caused roll together so we had a horrendously uncomfortable night. The shower was inadequate and barely warm. The general appearance, both inside and out was shabby, grubby and neglected. I am shocked that Best Western has the cheek to even put people in these rooms at any price.

Staff team were very helpful. The hotel is in need of refurbishment. Decor is very tired.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Great value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

It is so dated and smells of mold and is very musty. Owners have said they are revamping later in the year but that does not help those staying now.

Rooms were very dated and needed a lot of work. Service was fine though. 👍

The staff were very friendly. The bed was not the most comfortable, looked like it's long overdue a change. The overall hotel is pleasant enough although it could do with some updating. Lots of parking available and it's only a 10 min walk from the town.

First of all, note the price here and set your expectations accordingly. Yes it's an old building, yes there's traffic noise, and yes the rooms and bathrooms are in desperate need of modernisation. But the service is the thing the staff can make a difference to, and they do. It's a warm welcome with friendly, attentive service and if all you need is somewhere to lay your head for the night, it's got what you need at a very reasonable price.

The main part of the hotel is a 17th Century listed building. It could do with a refurb, but please "don't harm the charm" Very clean, very helpful nice staff, and the breakfast was excellent. The bar was a bit damp smelling, but what do you expect. Will stay there again.

My boyfriend and I went to visit Suffolk in August 2020 and stayed there for 3 nights. We were greeted by a nice, friendly lady at 9pm and given a comfortable room at the corner of the hotel block. It's a pretty basic hotel, the room was very 90s, good toilet, nice shower cubicle, good quality shower gel, towels etc. Parking was next to the hotel, lots of flyers for tourist attractions were available too. On asking we were given a replenishment of decaff coffee, canderel and skimmed milk pots. Good hotel overall with a bar and restaurant downstairs that offer local cheeses and ham.No complaints in particular although the room carpets deserve a deep clean.Rates per night were good. I enjoyed my stay and would go back in the future.
