The Rampant Horse in Mid Suffolk

Only stopped here for a drink whilst walking with friends along the river & round Needham Lake. 3 real ales & we tried 2, both very nice. Large out door seating area with lots if tables but no grass & quite tightly packed. Very good quality benches, water for dogs, umbrellas, heaters etc. Seemed to have music on a Friday and regular quiz nights. Didn't try food or see a menu.

Lovely place. Great food and great portion sizes. Staff were the best bit. So friendly and chatty. Will come again 😊

The Ramp so good I went there twice (in one day!) I know I’m a bit biased being chef’s mum but the Lucky Number 16 starter is sensational . Lunch and dinner here today no where to beat it . Keep doing what you do best

Fabulous food and atmosphere, especially the staff. Best bowl of nachos you will find anywhere in my opinion! 🤤 I'm vegetarian, so always find something suitable when I go in with my husband. Brilliant all around. 🤩

Disappointed. Was looking forward to lunch with my elderly mum. Roast beef and lamb. Both meats were hard to cut, roast potatoes quite hard on the outside and veg had been microwaved, so didn't keep their heat.Waitress was very good and offered complimentary desserts, which we declined, so she didn't charge for one roast. Don't know if I would revisit again, shame.

The rudest waitress I have ever encountered. Apparently “that’s how she is, she isn’t actually rude, it just comes across that way! “I would say that if that’s how she comes across then she is rude. So rude to one of my lunch party that she was almost in tears. Maybe they are modelling themselves on Fawlty Towers but it doesn’t work for me. I won’t go back and I suggest that my friends and family avoid it too. Lots of lovely places where the teams are friendly and happy to help in Needham or Stowmarket, so suggest you give it a wide birth.*booking was Sunday 22/01/22 late afternoon *

These guys here deserve the hugest pat on the back.This pub is now transformed into one of the best in the area. Lovely, friendly, staff, great choice of drinks, and top-notch food. See the amazing chilli nacho sharing platter! Served with a very commendable NZ Sauv Blanc.Support this pub - we need more of this!

Are you a pub or a restaurant? You can't be both!! ... Good staff and good food.. No complaints.. But too many drunk no socially distanced persons at the bar.. Not a face mask in sight.. Made us very nervous all night. Both fire exits blocked with Xmas trees and locked..only exit had 30 drunk persons in the way. No ventilation.. All windows closed plus a fight for extra measure...not somewhere will will be going back too.. Ps good cook!!

An excellant pub. They catered good food and drink for about 50 Wealdstone football fans. The land lady brought in extra staff at short notice to ensure we were well looked after. The staff, food and drink there was superb. A lovely place.

Only a few choices for vegetarians but the meal I had was very nice. Glad I was sharing the onion rings as portion quite large and very nice!
