Wonderful dog friendly pub! Enjoyed a coffee during a soggy dog walk and even the doggies were provided with dog biscuits! Lovely friendly staff 😊

Nice play park for the kids. Nice staff good atmosphere welcoming. If your looking for a posh wine bar this isn't for you. If your looking for a genuine pub there you go 👍 much rather come here any day than a wine bar

This pub, on the outside looks a little dated and if I didn't know better, would probably walk past... My husband, mother in law, 9 yr old son and I, went in for the advertised Thai food that was advertised for the pub. IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING THAI FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD. Amazing portions, beautifully cooked, the flavours were so delicate and the prices were great and very affordable. The staff were really friendly, approachable and polite and the service was fast. Fresh food in a clean and inviting environment.

Brilliant place for a drink. Great for social interaction or if you want to be left alone.children are welcome with there own fun area . dogs alike ...the food is next to none... Top chef . an bar staff are extremely helpful and friendly

The Retreat hosted a big party of nearly 30 of us today for our grandad’s birthday. They were very accommodating to all the diners including the children and the food was of a very high standard as usual. I was particularly impressed with the roast turkey — generous portions and a boat of gravy with each plate. The staff were very friendly and attentive and did a great job accommodating such a large group. Definitely now a family local!

Decent beer, price is okay. Good play area for children. Nice for a Sunday roast and gets quite booked up I hear. All round nice place and the staff are polite. Also seemingly okay with taking the gorgeous chippy fish and chips over on to their benches as long as you've obviously had a few drinks in their first and afterwards. 👍🍻

A friendly little country pub. The relatively new landlord is making a real go at it and has made improvements. Good home cooked food is value for money. It's a pleasant place to be.

Really loved the local feel to this place. Good selection of local real ales and friendly locals happy to share the pool table and dart board, despite our appalingly low skill after a few pints! Paula who runs it was lovely and nothing seemed too much hassle for her. She worked around our schedule and was chatty and hospitable. The room was basic but comfortable and perfect for our stay. We were within a short gentle walk of Stowmarket which suited us fine and the breakfast in the morning was just what we needed to keep us going for the morning. Thank you for having us and looking after us.Would happily stay again if we are over in Suffolk.
