This pub was absolutely amazing. The food was so good and they even made me a GF fish and chips. The ambience was laid back and super relaxing. I loved it. It was like finding a pot of gold

Lovely food (they even knocked up some pies for us especially!) and friendly welcoming staff. They were great with the kids and the outdoor space was brilliant with ducks, geese, chickens and a very cute bunny. Highly recommended and wait to get the chance for a return visit

Unfortunately I’m not able to recommend cotton trowel & hammer for their Sunday roasts. The meat yorkshires roast potatoes and parsnips were lovely but the frozen long beans and carrots were NOT. The waitress messed up two desserts and turned up with A plastic container containing some bits of chocolate promptly offering to sprinkle some chocolate on our vanilla Icecream ,we declined! Since it looked like she intended on using her hand to do it . We found our chairs very rickety and had to search round for better ones, when I pointed this out I was told we had picked the worse chairs in the pub yet it was the pubs staff that had reserved our table & chairs and since there was no one else in the pub it seems strange THEY had reserved the worse seats available ! When I posted on the pubs Facebook page I was asked what I expected for £10 ! A 5* meal? My comment was deleted from the page , probably along with anyone else’s that found the food to be poor. I could comment a lot more but to be honest I wouldn’t know were to stop, completely your choice but personally I will never return and neither will any of the 6 people I went with .

Not the best Sunday lunch we have had, The veg and roasties were from frozen, meat: pork or beef was ok. Yorkies homemade were the nice. The pudding was the best part sticky toffee with icecream. Doubt we will be returning which is sad as pub shows lots of potential.

Lovely warm family atmosphere, very clean every one is very polite and had wonderful smiles. The food is all home made, it tastes yummy perfect, the chef is a brilliant cook. Best place to take family for meal, the prices are very reasonable. All in all one of the best experiences I've had. ++++++++

We visited this large traditional country pub, had some lunch and drank some fine ale and wine. The welcome was very warm and the hosts could've have been more hospitable. It was great to find a pub that was so inviting and felt we could have stayed there all afternoon. We will definitely be returning for some more good food, wine and conversation.
