Bickerdykes in North Hertfordshire

Bickerdikes is a lovely garden centre, with a pleasant cafe.Unfortunately it is a gravel car park and entrance which is not wheelchair friendly.

Such friendly and helpful staff.The cafe was lovely, very efficient and the food and coffee was quality.

First time visit to Bickerdikes and I will be back!! Lunch was a delicious prawn sandwich (packed with prawns) which was served with a lovely fresh bit of salad and crisps. With a price tag of £6.95, I thought it was value for money. On to the gift section which was crammed with things from candles to jigsaw puzzles! Great selection of greetings cards; I bought some for next year! Then out to the plants. I was after Rosemary and both types of parsley. I managed to get the Rosemary but they didn’t have flat leaf parsley. When I asked, I was told that they might have some in next week but if not, definitely the week after. It was obvious by the look of the plants that the people who work there care about them. The staff I interacted with were all really friendly. Highly recommend a visit.

Although not huge, it's a delight. Perfect match of outside space with plants and pots etc, and indoor cafe and shop. The range of goods for sale is amazing. We've eaten in twice now and very impressed.

Long queue to pay in the shop, but the cafe is where they really need to improve. There seemed to be plenty of staff and it wasn’t that busy, but the girls were fed up; two of them told us they were 4 people short. Coffee took half hour to come and we only received a gingerbread man; the croissant never came. When we ordered lunch, it took just under an hour and cheese was missing from the children’s meals. It wasn’t until we made it clear we wasn’t impressed, that they explained they were short staffed. They should set expectations as you walk in. Seeing fed up staff, and the lack of service, is unprofessional, and a great shame, as it’s such a lovely garden centre and cafe. Unfortunately every time I’ve visited, the service has been slow and half hearted, so they either need more staff, or better training. Or both.

Good outdoor garden selection as well as a select range of quality gifts indoor. A very nice cafe with normally a good range of food but menu currently restricted by reduced staff due to Covid.

Medium sized but we'll stocked garden centre, plus goats a pond with fish and a nice cafe with an outside terrace. We turned up just too late for breakfast which looked great but instead had nice toasted foccaccia sandwiches.Having now gone back and had a breakfast too and again for cake I happily recommend those too!

Our favourite garden centre by far! The restaurant staff are all so efficient and friendly, and all the food served, from a Belgian bun to a full English, is top class. Its a real treat! Brilliant selection of plants and garden accessories.

It is a little gem of a garden centre located on the edge of Letchworth with plenty of parking, it is disability friendly and has excellent facilities which are spotlessly clean. For children and adults there are a small family of pigmy goats to see.The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.The cafe is well sized, warm and friendly. It has table service and very clean. A great meeting place for a drink and a snack with friends. The prices are reasonable and food delicious.The garden centre shop on addition to the garden supplies has some unusual gifts for friends and families of all ages and at a reasonably priced.It has become one of my favourite places for a drink and a wander.I would recommend a visit.
