Chicken George in North Hertfordshire

Big fan of fried chicken, always held Chicknsours as the best in the UK. But after my meal tonight (25/06) can safely say Chicken George wiped the floor, best chicken I’ve eaten 10/10!

Lush chicken! We travel to come here because you absolutely cannot beat it. The Thai sauce and the rubicon on3 are our favourite! Staff were super helpful too. Thanks Alfie, Sasha, Lewis and rhys! See you soon.

Our friends talk about this place all the time.About 10 of us came over yesterday to eat in and I cant express how lovely and helpful the staff was.We didnt book in advance but they comfortably sat all 10 of us in 2 long tables.It was a very nice lively atmosphere, could still hear everyone in our table with out shouting.The bar had a a good selection of beers on tab with a good drinks menu.Food menu was easy to read and understand.Food was Amazing!Chicken wasnt greasy or plain. Was about the size of my hard !Chicken wings , saucy and flavourful.One of the best chips I've ever had.Loads of chips per portion.Mac and cheese cheesy and beautiful!Not soggy or over done.Chicken strip weren't dry.I needed about 5 tissues to eat a strip, it was that covers in sauce.Recommended to any chicken lover!

Went with 4 other friends and we all love it! The service and atmosphere was fantastic. We all had a load of different strips and wings each and agreed they were banging! Never knew they could all taste so different, but great at same time. Drinks were class with their own George Ale going down too well. Considering how much we ate and drank the price was reasonable too and would go back.

the meals are very filling, with a wide range of burgers, wings and chicken fillets. there is option to take out, or eat in at the bar/restaurant. definitely worth taking the time to visit if you’re in hitchin

Visited for the first time this evening, while away for work.The electronic menus are annoying, showing videos wiping away the menu when you're trying to read it! First time there, and I wanted to read! Small detail but if I remember it, it's worth noting.I fancied a burger. So, I ordered off the part of the menu which said 'Burgers and..." but I got chicken strips instead. I thought, meh whatever, they look good. The mac and cheese side was great and to be fair, the meal I didn't want was really nice. The chips are so moreish! Flooded in sauce though. It was a little overbearing and I like my sauces!The only other thing that let it down was the girl behind the till taking my order. Such a monotonal voice and speaking like she's got somewhere better to be. She probably has, but let's not show it hey?I also politely asked for a VAT receipt (to claim back expenses from work). She said something along the lines of "well you get it anyway, as it has your order number on it" in a way that assumes I already knew. It was my first time there and I told her this, and got a right snotty look!I'd go back again purely for the food, not the service.

Lovely food and great staff. Good atmosphere there is takeaway section to the side of the restaurant.

Chicken George is by far the best place to go to for chicken, food is amazing and would highly recommend. It would do so much better if it had bigger premises, as it gets busy and hard to get seated.

1st class. Best fried chicken in England and the best wings too. Everything was top notch from the fries to the dips and even the coleslaw. An absolute pleasure to eat here.

Their buffalo wing chickens are really really hot than I expected 🔥but chickens and chips were delicious you should try their blue cheese deep sauce as well!
