Codicote Spice in North Hertfordshire

Lovely staff, amazing food and delievery is so quick and the food served is mouth watering...

Minuscule amount of tiny bits of chicken in biryani, accompanying veg curry was a tasteless slop, onion salad ordered was tiny. Prawn jalfrezi too hot but under spiced.Definitely an experience not to be repeated.

My son and I are trying a spicy vindaloo and my wife something somewhat milder from around all surrounding Indian takeaways. There are some good points about tonight's meal and some not so good points. The food was generally OK but nothing to write home about. The vindaloo was nice and spicy but lacked some of the flavour of others we've tried recently. The dry vegetable dish was good and my wife's Korma had a good flavour. What puts me off a restaurant is when the curry is swimming in oil which I have to say, ours were. I usually like to mop up all the sauce with some nan but it was far too oily and we left most of the sauce with our main dishes. The Korma too was excessively oily. Compared with other vindaloos we've had recently, the amount of lamb in the dish was small, bulked up with large lumps of potato which I've never experienced before in a vindaloo. My son's keema nan had hardly any meat and could have passed as a plain nan. The raita that came with the salads with my wife's tandoori chicken starter and the small salad accompanying our vindaloos looked radioactive - like luminescent green paint. A more natural colour or even a little yellow is far more appealing. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be ordering again from Codicote Spice in the near future.

Fantastic experience in June 2021, went with the family.Classy restaurant with a cosy touch.The staff are very friendly and professional, food is healthy and delicious, and portions and prices are very good.Highly recommended 👌🏽

I really regret having to write this review after having been a loyal customer of Codicote Spice for years. We have always spoken very highly of them and had takeaways when friends are over. Unfortunately recently we have felt the quality had deteriorated from they normally very good standard. Last night was particularly poor, the meat was very tough and we are both feeling unwell this morning. My wife especially who has spent most of the morning so far in the bathroom. We will unfortunately not be using them again.

Beautiful food and really friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Hot and freshly prepared food. Super quick delivery. Drivers are polite and efficient. Will definitely be a regular customer.

This is exactly what I’m looking for when I’ve any indian food cravings .. after lot of trails in my area with different indian restaurants. Trust me this is very good place for good food with great service.Special thanks to the person (KABIR) who served me.Looking forward to visit this again.

This place was brilliant!We had a large order out to delivery and they were extremely honest about how long it would take due to the weather, even so it arrived right on time.The delivery guy was very polite and chatty and the food was brilliant. Everything cooked well, piping hot and deeply flavoured.Served seven of us for around a tenner each as well, which is very reasonable.Would totally recommend this place to others and we will be eating there again!
