Nice pub serving food . Menu restricted as shutting down on sun 17th April for 6 week refurbishment. Service and food still very good and reasonably priced

I had a very nice evening with some friends. The bar staff were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. I hope to go back soon.

Very nice lunch. Staff were outstanding. Due to delivery problems, some of the items were not available from the menu. But there is so much choice it wasn't a problem. Will be back.

Has had ups and downs in recent times but last night was lively, friendly and fun. It is a traditional pub with lots of interest and no pretensions. Because of its location, at the far end of Hitchin's most historic street, it doesn't suffer from an influx of youngsters on the town and locals can always find a quiet corner. Prices very fair. Cannot comment on the food.

A hidden gem of a pub in Hitchin serving a great range of ales and beers and a top Sunday roast everytime. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere with a traditional pub feel.

Probably the most historical place for a pint in Hitchin. Doesn't hurt that the service is excellent and the taps offer a great selection. Come in for the atmosphere, stay for the... everything mentioned above!

What a delightful surprise to visit, Mr Google, you may need to add an extra 🌟 for this one! Just a brilliant pub with great beer and wonderful inexpensive food. Certainly worth a visit if you are near Hitchin. Staff are great, helpful and happy. The building has history all over it, the beams, fire places and all, many hundreds of years old. An absolute delight!
