Deep Blue in North Hertfordshire

Friendly staff, but unfortunately the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. The chips were soggy, felt a bit undercooked and not crispy at all (felt like it has sat in the serving container for a while, didn’t seem fresh); it was also not cut properly. The overly battered fish was overcooked (you can see the colour is more towards brown than golden), it was a hard crunch rather than crispy (this was being tasted straight after collection from the shop).The price for its portion is also not worth it, sadly won’t be returning.

Really disappointing experience yesterday - 2 large portions of chips over £7 !? 1.) it was way more like a regular portion and 2.) the chips were tastless and anemic. wont be using again.

Had the pleasure after many many months of avoiding deep blue to hear that an old staff member had returned as acting manager so tried them again and wasn't disappointed...after using them for at least 6 years when they left it really went down hill but hopefully they will be on the up again well done drew ....

I don't like to leave negative reviews but this was disappointing. Tasteless chips and tasteless overcooked scampi.

Piping hot chips, absolutely delicious. Friendliest service I've had in ages some of the negative reviews had put me off (maybe those staff members have moved on)... but it was raining so hard that we stopped here to buy because it was closest... so glad we did! I would say it was slightly expensive but overall, really happy and would buy from here again.

Will never go to Deep Blue Letchworth again. The food was inedible, the chips were obviously re-heated. Absolute waste of money. I only gave it one star because there wasn’t an option for no stars!!

Have been twice in the last month, both occasions I’ve had to wait 5 mins before someone took my order, not because they were busy, because there was no-one behind the counter. I shouted a couple times and eventually a young girl arrived, she was on a break and the other two useless chaps couldn’t cover for her. They didn’t care at all. Other customers left after waiting. The food is average at best, chips were full of black bits which should have been cut away. When this was cox’s it was the best chippy in town, now is the worst, seems to be no management or quality control. Poor all round, but that’s what to expect from a big chain.

Freshly cooked plaice, cod and chips cooked by friendly, efficient staff. Batter was lovely and crisp and nothing was under cooked or too greasy. A little pricey but the fish was very tasty. I'd definitely order from Deep Blue, Letchworth again.

4th time buying, probably last.First times decent, last one disappointing, pay extra for cheese - obviously no cheese, pay extra for curry sauce - obviously half a pot why full, pay extra for large portion of chips - obviously a dozen spread around.order not ready on time, the only portion of chips that did have some cheese on was practically not edible, all stuck to the paper under probably sitting for too long.I noticed the lady at the till was a beginner no fault to her but she should be supervised.
