Deroka in North Hertfordshire

Nice place in hitchin. Not the best food ever but it was ok. I had salmon which was a good size portion but had only potatoe with it so was a bit dry for me. I asked for mayo and was not offered any alternative.

Couldn’t get booked in anywhere else as all busy but Dakota wasn’t so decided to risk it, what a mistake. Place was half empty so concerning. Valentine meal was £50 each and consisted of Mese and a few main meals ie Mousaka and rice etc. although not busy they had run out of sweet so settled for one cheesecake and tiramisu which was all they had left ie a position of each neither of which was home made. I asked for ice cream but had none.Total rip off of my hard earned money and certainly will be telling friends if this very bad experience

Went to Deroka with the family today, I had the mint lamb burger and hot meze, the food was absolutely amazing. The staff were quick and friendly, would highly recommend this restaurant

Went in on Thursday lunchtime & only a table of 4 were in at the time. OMG, the starter & main course were simply delicious! Really good portions too. We shall definitely return.

My girlfriend & I stopped in as we was passing and I'm glad we did. The restaurant is lovely and cosy, the service was superb and the food was to die for. I had the swordfish steak & my girlfriend had the lamb kofta, beautifully cooked and very tasty. We will definitely visit again as there is so much I wanna try on the menu.Thank you to everyone at Deroka!

Had lunch here today for the first time. Food very nice, staff attentive and not a bad price. Board outside on display states 2 or 3 course lunch from £11.90 but when we asked for the lunch menu we were advised the offer only Monday to Friday so why is the board there? Sharp practice I think. We could have left but didn’t but doubt I’ll return.

The Mixed fish skewer for me was absolutely delicious. Never had one before. I went on a Tuesday evening so was not too busy. I believe I was served by the manager and was really welcoming, attentive and professional. Good location and will be back again soon. Thank you.

Lovely atmosphere and staff were really helpful and polite. I wasn't that impressed with the food. I ordered the mixed fish skewer. It was very oily because of the pesto dressing.
