George IV in North Hertfordshire

First visit since reopening and it didn't disappoint, we were welcomed with our dog and seated in a lovely part of the bar. We ordered food at the bar, I had the seafood grill while my partner has the mixed grill both were amazing, nice thick pieces of meat on the mixed grill and perfectly cooked fish on the seafood grill. The service was very good with friendly polite staff we will definitely be back. Thank you

Was driving past and thought we would pop in and have some dinner. service was great and food was absolutely amazing 😋 and reasonably priced. kids have a very good selection and filling enough for a teenager.

Popped in for a weekday lunch in a newly refurbished pub, was very impressed from the spacious outside space available (for sunnier/warmer days) and the way the inside had been decorated. Had an excellent meal reasonably priced and very tasty, look forward to revisiting in the very near future.

First visit since it became a chef and brewer. Food was lovely. Nice and hot and plenty of it. Good choice of dessert. Good value for money. It was nice to be able to take the dogs with us. We were sat in the bar area which was very comfortable. Staff were happy to provide water for the dogs. Will definitely be going there again.

Terrible!! Absolutely terrible. Pub half empty and staff chatting at the bar eating food not serving customers. Awful service.waited for 1.5 hours for food. Chef must be in need of serious retraining. There wasn't many customers to feed......and food took forever and they gotgot 1 dinner. Never againNice plants outside, nice garden but that's about it. The hair in the hock pie rrally firmed our view on this pub. Very disappointed 😞

I know the George has been under new ownership for a while now, but it's been our first visit this week. Wow. Fantastic. The garden is so open and west facing, meaning you get plenty of sun in the evening. The staff are helpful and friendly, the beer is kept well, and is very dog friendly. The menu looks interesting, and we can't wait to eat there. Great stuff!

Just had the taster night, food was fantastic, so good I made myself have 3 courses. Pate and toast for starter, very very nice, steak and chips for main, cooked just how I asked and chocolate brownie for dessert. Can't fault the food or the staff, and the overhaul of the pub and gardens are excellent, the garden is so summer ready. Can't wait to come back.

My friend & I visited the George IV for the first time in a long time and was extremely happy to see a big improvement in the food and service.we both had the hunters chicken which was delicious, it was a shame the coffee machine was not working but these things happen.there was 2 lady's and a man who was extremely helpful and all took part in delivering great service.We was told about an upcoming refurbishment which sounds exciting and will be back to take a look.

Corrine our waitress last week made the entire experience amazing. All orders were correct and she ensured we were looked after. As a large party, we were so pleased to have such great service.
