Lussmanns - Hitchin in North Hertfordshire

Great lunch indoors but wide open windows make it fell like we are outside. Good summer lunch deals. Had sole and fishcakes that they were both very good. Service was very friendly and professional.

Nice food and hosts. The seafood are always a winner.

I can’t believe we have only just found this place . I visited with 3 family members . It’s very rare you find somewhere with the full package . From the moment we arrived to the moment left it was faultless . The lady that showed us to our table was very welcoming. Emma who served us the entire meal was happy to provide recommendations when asked , was very knowledgeable on every dish we asked about and wines. She is truly a gem and we can’t speak highly enough. The food was without doubt made with love and so delicious. There cannot be an apple crumble better on this planet . The brûlée is a surprise . It’s something when you want to eat your own dish and everyone else’s . We will be back.

Lovely experience. Set menu great value. Mum had pulled pork to start and then fishcake which were 5 star. I had sprats and then a steak. Both good but I wish I'd had fish for main. This is a fish restaurant after all. We will return most certainly.

Food was absolutely gorgeous! I cannot stress enough how every item we ordered was cooked to perfection. The mussels were so tasty and the duck was soft cooked with all the right flavours. The gentleman serving us was so friendly and had a great sense of humour. Every restaurant needs a guy like this! My husband took me here for my birthday lunch and I was definitely happy with the delicious food and service! Thank you Lussmans for a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to go back! :-)

We had a great meal for four on a busy Friday evening.My starter of cod cheeks was gorgeous, a lovely combination of hot, fresh, spicy and a slight sourness - fantastic. I thought it could have done with a little bread to mop up the broth but to be honest, glad it didn't because I could hardly manage my main course of chicken schnitzel.The chicken was cooked very well full of flavour. The dish came with pasta which was a bit rich, I'd go for the salad option if I had it again.Service was friendly if a little relaxed to start with but food was quick without us feeling rushed at all. All in all, a lovely, relaxed evening, interesting menu and high quality cooking and good choice of house wine.Thanks folks!

This restaurant was recommended to us and it really did not disappointed us. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious. I had a fishcake with very nice creamy sauce and my partner had the shepherd's pie which he loved. The menue is small which immediately tells you that everything is fresh. What made the food even tastier was the fact that is local, seasonal and sustainable. A restaurant for the perfect date.
