We chose to meet at the Angels as it's a half way point for us and the friends we were meeting for lunch. We both have little ones so it sounded perfect with having the soft play and it was. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the children were able to use the soft play while we could still see them. There wasn't any play equipment suitable for babies but there were plenty of highchairs and the changing facilities were good. There is a lot of choice on the menu, including a kids menu and the chicken burger was lovely. My partner was disappointed with the hunters chicken and his sundae which is why it's a four Star rating rather than five. Overall we were very satisfied and would recommend the Angels.

The venue was great when you’ve got a young child. Excellent facilities for them. Staff were great. The seating etc was great, really nice inside.Food though was not great. The vegetarian how Sunday parsnip and cranberry roast was a sloppy, over sweet oniony mess. Really unpleasant and as usual vegetarian or vegan choices are none existent and just some ‘nut’ roast thrown together without much skill. The vegetables were lovely but literally half a carrot sliced up and two tiny broccoli spears. Very disappointing. Get the food to a higher standard and I would come again. We were a party of seven and often do group lunches but I wouldn’t eat there again based on the quality of the food. But in fairness the cost reflected the standard of food as it was very reasonably priced.

First time we visited this place, the soft play area is a great idea, allows the kids to be occupied between courses and have fun, £2.50 per child for the duration of your stay. Tables are allowed 2 hours and 15 minutes, however because no one else was waiting for our table we were allowed to stay for longer. We were reminded that after 8 or 8:30 children were not allowed but we were about to leave anyway. They have a completely separate gluten free menu for adults and were very helpful with the information on allergens on the children's menu. Some cutlery for little ones would be useful. The staff were friendly and the food was very good. My one grumble was that the food took a long time even though it did not seem that busy considering the amount of empty tables. Typical for restaurants/pubs these days. Ran with too few staff. This is not a negative on the staff as they themselves were busy. We would return again for sure. Thank you.

On a Sunday afternoon it was fairly busy. Had booked a table an hour before hand so wasn't ram packed.Had asked to be seated as close to the indoor play area as possible. I was seated on the end. Other tables were free my entire visit which irked me.This end table I was sat at made feel like I were in a gold fish bowl. This is where the overly attentive wait staff would hang around waiting for a job to do. To be watched eating and interacting with my kids was uncomfortable.Word to management, delegate them a job to do so customers can eat in peace. The food portions for the kids were perfect and the kids ate every last bit.I had the chicken roast and needed to ask for the veg that was stated on the menu, to then have it sent separately to my main meal.Ordered dessert and it also came out incorrect.I paid less than £40 for entire visit so I guess I get what I paid for.

Waiters and waitress very good even thou they were very young and inexperienced. food was slow on coming out and then parts of the orders were missing had to chase up. it also seemed to go cold quickly.Excellent place for the children but if you want a peaceful meal this place isn't for you.Soft play was good kept the children happy.Would I go back probably not but that's just me.

Great meal for four at lunchtime, we all had steaks cooked to three levels and all after we compared our steaks were exactly as requested which is a bit unusual these days. The wine and company were great at the correct temperature. Many thanks to John and his team for a very happy birthday lunch.

Took my wife here for her first mothers day, Staff were super helpful and polite was even met by the manager John who helped find our booking and advise us of menu options etc. We were then served by Lucy who was brilliant! She was running around for us finding out about allergy information for our little one. Food was nice and very very quick! Will defiantly be making this a regular visit!

Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere, food was good too. Service started off well with drinks and food order being taken & food coming quite quickly. We then ordered desserts which took about an hour to come & asked for the bill 3 times and it never came. The desserts were nice however the adults brownie and ice cream was just 2 brownie pieces with a scoop of ice cream - compared to the other desserts this didn’t seem right. In the end we got up and put our coats on to leave and the bill finally arrived. Such a shame it ended badly as the soft play was brilliant for my little boy and the mains were lovely.

Booked for a large group with two dogs and a small child for Saturday lunchtime and it was great! We ordered a lot of food, including lots of small plates, and everything came out together, without any mistakes. Service was attentive despite being busy. I think the lady who served us was in charge (manager?) and she was doing a great job! My nephew loved the soft play. We all felt it was great value for money too. Deffo book here if you want somewhere easy going and you have young children.
