The Bushel and Strike in North Hertfordshire

We visited the Bushel & Strike as our first choice restaurant wasn't able to fit us in. We weren't quite sure what to expect and had to wait a while for a table. However, all of us said that it was by far the best roast dinner we'd had anywhere. Great portions, good price and it was beautifully cooked. The waitress was very friendly and a great host. Choice of local ales was good, and it's great to see local breweries being supported. We'd definitely go back, and next time it won't be a second choice!

Nice village pub with fantastic views of the church. Haven't had food there in a while but good selection of drinks.

We have visited Bushel and Strike for the very first time yesterday after visiting our friends who live in Ashwell. We were so impressed that the pub did good , traditional Sunday roast. The quality of the food , generous portions and presentation exceeded our expectations. It’s a really beautiful pub, with a really friendly landlords in a beautiful village and we will definitely return to try more of their great food.

First visit. Club dinner. Perfect venue for us. Set meal with good choices. Veggie option was very tasty. 50 plus covers and food delivered in a timely fashion with a smile.

Can not fault this lovely village pub. We had Sunday lunch this afternoon and we were absolutely overwhelmed with the food, staff and the fantastic service. The pub was very busy .The Sunday roast ( we had beef and lamb ) and the desserts were to die for. We will definitely return again and recommend to everyone every time.

Very poor. There were 11 of us. Main course 2 of us did not get our beef until the others had almost finished. 2 who had lamb said it was nearly cold. Puddings we had to wait half an hour for and when I spoke to the manager, he said the kitchen had only reached the kitchen 5 minutes before. He apologised and said he would give us a discount on the desserts but this didn’t happen. At the beginning we asked for there to be 4 bills but only 1 bill appeared so we had to insist on the 4 bills. Altogether a disappointing lunch so we won’t be coming again. The waitresses were very good and apologetic about the service.

Beautiful pub Me and my partner came here for some food and we was greeted by some lovely staff and we both got the wagyu cheese burger it was delicious and we had fudge cake for dessert and it was also amazing would defo recommend for everyone we be coming again soon

We had a wonderdul meal on 17/12/21 for a Christmas party. We had our own large function room that was dressed up beautifully where we could play our own music. The food was delicious, friendly bar staff and the whole pub/restaurant was festively decorated. Will definitely be returning as it's a little gem of a pub/restaurant around here. Thank you for a great night!

Delicious Sunday lunch. Roast Turkey and a Nut Roast. Both really nice and hot. Great vegetables and the cauliflower cheese was a much appreciated extra.Friendly serviceThroughly recommendThank you
