Their new menu was amazing! We had the scallops to start with and they were cooked to perfection. For the mains I had the tomahawk pork which I've never seen anywhere before, it was cooked beautifully and came with a chorizo slaw and some roasted new Jersey potatoes. My wife had the lasagna and she had some amazing very thin hand cut fries. Very impressed overall - great service too!!

Booked dinner here for a family birthday. A little apprehensive at first, they fluffed the drinks orders and we were first in at 5:30pm so it felt a little cold and a bit damp at first. However, things rapidly got better. All 7 of us had lovely starters and mains, very fresh, very well put together dishes. We all enjoyed everything we ate and drank. The service was the good sort where the staff are obviously proud of the place and want you to enjoy it too. The only thing I’d say is that the service was slow. We were there 3 hours a lot of which was spent waiting for courses to be served. If that’s okay with you then that’s okay. Also be the portions were too big.The icing on the cake (literally) was an unplanned scoop of ice-cream with sparkler and a rendition of Happy Birthday for the birthday boy - they’d just worked out it was a birthday from the cards and presents on the table. Will be back

We were a party of 4 and arrived with high expectations and we were not disappointed. We had 2 fish and chips and 2 scampi - the plates of food were enormous, very hot and delicious. We recommend the chunky chips and the sorbet we had after. The service was prompt and cheerful and as it was a sunny day, we finished with coffees outside on the green.Thank you, we shall be back soon.

Amazing Sunday lunch with family and dog. The staff were very friendly and attentive despite being extremely busy. The menu had excellent choice, including for our veggie friend. And the portions were very generous. The children played in the well stocked playground behind the pub before rain stopped play. Will definitely be going back soon.

A lovely pub in a pretty village. Plenty of outside seating. The lunch menu was perfect and the food all well cooked and presented. The dessert menu is inventive...no sticky toffee pudding here! Instead, we had homemade chocolate halva with apricot puree and orange semolina. Delicious and not too sweet.Definitely recommend.

Lovely food. Very generous portion. Haggis bon bon was lovely. So was the main - venison two ways and fish & chips. Very friendly staff. Noticed it was very popular with locals. Pity that we were too full to go for desserts.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch and service was great. Had the Sunday roast which was really well cooked with proper gravy and fresh vegetables. We were impressed by the quality of the food and attentive service, not my first visit here and certainly won’t be my last, a very decent pub well worth visiting for a drink and food. Great location in a very pretty village with ample car parking. Plenty of great walks around the area as well.Would advise booking at peak periods as it does get busy.

I’ve been here more times than I can count and the food and beer have always been excellent. The food is for the most part, simple pub grub, done extremely well. The beer is always excellent and I can’t fault the staff. The wait times can sometimes be a little long due to its popularity, but that just leaves you with time for an extra pint of their real ale. Keep up the great work 😀
