The George and Dragon in North Hertfordshire

Visited tonight and had the beef short rib, halibut, Korean BBQ ribs and popcorn cockles. Didn't stop to get a photo of the starters! All of the food was great and very generous portions too. Great service and a really clean and airy space that has been decorated beautifully by the new owners👌

Lovely lunch outside in the grassed seating area. Very reasonably priced and quick service. We both had sandwiches, which were fresh and tasty. Well recommend.

Had food after the reopening of the pub! Superb food and great service! I recommend the pork belly dish and the house wine!

We came and had an amazing lunch on Sunday. The lamb was perfect and the home-made stuffing was excellent. Chef Zoe was lovely and welcoming! The pub is warm, inviting and spacious, also dog-friendly in part so everyone is welcome. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place & amazing atmosphere, only down would be that the toilets aren't accessible to wheelchair users and still a little scary for those on a crutch/cane too as you'd need to go down some big steps, I didn't see a wheelchair entrance at the front but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough as it says there is one. But I would definitely still give it 5* though, as they make up for it in all other areas, really nice food too, was a brilliant night and the staff are very friendly and polite. Staff were lovely and friendly and the inside of the pub is nice. Sadly my food was not up to standard. My Arancini starter was over deep fried and my Fish in batter, main course, was missing the fish. It was mainly soggy batter which was not cooked properly.I have to add this is the first time out of a few visits that i have been disappointed.

We chose this place based on the reviews but soon realised they're not entirely true, at least this time. We got two options of roast so we went for chicken which turned out to be 2 chicken thighs that weren't very cooked, some small potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding, no stuffing and a bowl of hard soggy vegetables in a pool of water with some pepper, to share between three.Considering the price. A lot more was expected. Truly disappointing.

Ordered roast chicken. Extremely disappointing. The food came before the cutlery did. I was given a plate of two soggy chicken thighs about 4 mini roast potatoes and one Yorkshire pudding. The menu said stuffing too but we didn't receive that. The "seasonal vegtables" were frozen and microwaved, given in a bowl that was soaked with water. The Carrots were still rock solid. Very poor, will not go again.

This is the best place to take your dog ever! The most dog friendly pub in the world. The food was amazing and restaurant quality. The staff are friendly and the owner is a delight with her own lovely dogs. She came round and greeted us all gifting treats to our Rosie. The reservation plates are a gorgeous touch and all the crockery was rustic and modern aesthetic. No wonder this place is so highly regarded as it is a dream. They really understand good customer service and amazing dog service! They even serve doggy wine and beer. Couldn't have asked for a better place in this heat as you can't leave your dog in the car. Two thumbs and a paw up!

Nice place and good fish and chips if you are up for it. The food on the menu is rather affordable so you won't be spending all your money on the dinner. Quite cosy place as well with staff serving you very quickly and professionally. Also if you live either in Stevenage or in Hitchin it is quite close from both of these towns. Good place for a work dinner.
