Excellent brunch option in Hitchin with good choice of food. We had to wait outside for around 20 minutes (but it was a busy bank holiday!). We were told this so our expectations were managed and believe we were sat within 15 minutes. Overall service was ok but slightly slow but didn’t spoil the overall enjoyment. Would return and have recommended.

Breakfast this morning was simply a delight. Smashed avocado with feta and seeds on toast (with smoked bacon on the side). Delicious cappuccino and very friendly. Forgot to take a photo but I'll be going back.

Lovely team, warm and friendly.Extremely good food and cost effective (not cheap but appropriate for its great taste). We will be returning for sure

Small, friendly cafe serving high quality drinks and food. Approximately 8 to 10 tables outside, inside approx 15 covers. On a Saturday morning we waited 15 minutes for a table, but no shortage of customers queueing despite lots of neighbouring competition which indicates high regard. My Groundworks breakfast was delicious, high quality sausage and bacon, perfect egg (I chose poached), tasty tomatoes etc.Young staff were friendly though perhaps a little too keen to clear plates before all of us had finished. Nevertheless well worth stopping by.

Very friendly staff, tasty coffee and delicious food

Only been a couple of times but Groundworks has been excellent on each visit. Friendly service, great coffee, good value for money, good music and the best avocado on toast I’ve had anywhere.

·

Great for brunch, highly recommend the eggs benedict (various options). Proper coffee. Nice atmosphere and very friendly and efficient staff.

The food is immaculate and did not take long at all to be cooked. The service was very prompt and efficient.

The food is really good.I had the Groundworks breakfast and asked to replace the mushroom by another egg.My partner had the avocado on toast with two poached eggs.We both had coffee also. The food was nice but this place is slightly more expensive than the usual and I didn't felt it was worth the extra price. We also had a visit to the bathroom and was clean, so that was pleasant. The decor is really nice also, I enjoyed that.As I said not sure is worth the higher price considering the other places around.

I haven't been here for a few years so decided to pay it a visit. I had a bacon roll on a delicious brioche bun and tea. My friend had scrambled eggs. Both were yummy. We went early as it does get rather busy from 11am with Mums with buggys.
