The mill stream in North Hertfordshire

Food was lovely as always, gorgeous establishment. Little bit of a wait for the food but worth it, and understandable with how popular the pub is. Would highly recommend.

Nice place with a bit of a vibe. We had Sunday roast... It was very late afternoon. It was not great but I do think it would have been better at lunch time.

Exactly what you want in a pub. Cozy atmosphere. Great service. One of the best Sunday roasts to be had in Hitchin. Honestly will have dreams about this roast. Good selection of draughts from a couple of local breweries, all of which can be enjoyed with river views.

Super friendly from the first to the last minute. We was served by Erin, who was happy to help with all our needs especially when it came to the twins! All staff involved were brilliant. So we had 6 adults and the twins (4 yr olds) who got crayons even before they could think! We had a 3 course meal ( most of us) they checked in with us all between each course after we had chance to try it - not before! And each course I have to say ( I’m very very fussy and not easily pleased much to the horror of my loved ones ) was beautiful! The rack of ribs and the skin on fries home made style slaw was heaven perfection on my plate mate!. There was great variety to choose from ( decision on dessert was tricky but I did it ) the atmosphere was warm light not bright! Welcoming light back ground music. The bar tender was honest courteous the waitresses were all well mannered and nothing was too much trouble. So to cut the long story short , yes I would recommend this nice pub/restaurant yes I would definitely go again and yes I really enjoyed it . Only down side was I had to go home. Nice one millstream

A pleasant enough Riverside pub restaurant with a fairly typical menu. The food is well cooked, well presented and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and offer efficient service. The "maritime" theme decor extends to the rather twee naming of the gents as the 'bouys". Can get busy so advisable to book a table.

Always love coming here, very friendly staff. The Sunday roast Yorkshire’s are huge, the chicken is tasty and probably some of the best pub roast potatoes I’ve ever had. The desserts are lovely too.

Lovely place, loved the outside sitting with its decorations from the old mill.Went last 3rd September afternoon for a well deserved pint with my work colleagues.Not giving 5 stars as while the waiter was serving our beers he dropped beer on the table and instead of topping it up he asked me if I would be alright.Remember to keep excellent customers experience!

Very nice pub good food decent beer. Had good Sunday roast 3 meat roast big one.

Got show to my table and told someone would come and serve drinks ... you can't get them from the bar ... been here ten minutes now and I'm just getting ignored. Nice chap eventually did the table service bit ... one good waitresses, another one was useless. Food expensive and small portions (a mate asked me where my steak was ... 😁) - despite the diminutive small, the steak was good quality, cooked well and tasted good; chicken was fine too, but chips where nit pipping hot - they should have been given the price of the meal.
