We had a horrendous experience a few months ago, but we had our entire bill refunded and the manager assured us this was a one off. Unfortunately, going back was the wrong decision as it made clear that the issues with the pub management have not been resolved. The pub is very asthetic and well decorated. The garden is very relaxing. However, there simply isn’t enough staff / staff are not efficient enough to cope with a pub with about 50% occupancy. We waited 30 minutes to place our order, 45 minutes for food to come, an hour for a jug of water we asked for when we placed our drinks order… I had to repeatedly ask staff where the orders were. Staff weren’t very apologetic about our experience. The food tasted average, so was at least edible which was an improvement on last time.Advice to management - get more staff so that staff are happier, more polite and not so rushed and then customers won’t have to wait for hours to eat.

Lovely atmosphere, staff and location let down by food. Pork belly, ribs and sausage was dry, onion soup was disappointing in flavour and texture. Hope it gets better.

Always a treat to visit, the food is very well presented and delivered in good time. Food a bit pricey but sourced locally, and bottled drinks are quite expensive too. It's a lovely cosy place to have a meal.

Just love this place. Came in on Valentine’s Day and had excellent service from the new lady that started. She was great. Food was brilliant and general atmosphere was great. Can’t wait to visit again.

We've been here a couple of times now and had lovely food and great service every time. Plus, seeing the piggies outside are an added bonus! Excited to come back in the summertime!

Beautiful beef wellington and sticky toffee pudding dessert. The side order of onion rings were also lovely.

My and my husband love this place. It's beautiful and cosy. You need to book in advance because seats aren't guaranteed.Update: We went there with a friend for my birthday (it's meant to be Christmas Eve but we didn't chance it in case we couldn't get availability, so did it on the 23rd)And the dinner was very good! Food was brilliant all around with the exception of the Beetroot Wellington which was a bit too much. Photos below otherwise. It was wonderful.

The reason for my missing star. I didn't enjoy the burger meat at all. Tasted like a flat processed burger. I am truly disappointed. I have 4 stars however because the rest of the food was nice, great atmosphere and lovely service.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch but earliest time they had was in the evening….Arrived to see the array of meats ready to be enjoyed but when tried to order we were told they only had the main menu as they were keeping the roasts for a table later in the evening 😳My Rusty Nail chicken was dry and not enjoyable at all although others enjoyed their steak and BBQ dish.Staff not interested and and did put an edge to the meal we had really looked forward to after a long walk.If this is their way of doing business we should have been warned and therefore not so disappointed ☹️

A large, dog friendly pub with a mouth watering menu. Surprisingly we didnt have to book despite the beer garden being extremely busy. The staff were friendly and helpful and the portions huge. Will definitely revisit at some point.
