We have been here a few times with the kids for a meal out. There is a fair selection of food available. The staff are always very welcoming and happy to help.My only criticisms would be that some areas are looking pretty shabby and unloved (not everywhere, but it is noticeable) and there have been a couple of occasions, although not all, mainly in the evening, where the food has been quite slow to arrive (40mins+) even though it's not busy. That being said it is worth going, there's plenty of parking and the food is nice.

Pros: Friendly staff, carvery is usually good.Cons: Place is a little bit run down (torn furniture, dated, not much upkeep), also not nearly as clean as it could be.We had two burgers (chicken (pictured) and beef) both were very burnt, still ate some of these as we didn't fancy waiting another 40 minutes for a new one.

Met with friends to have a drink and food from the carvery.Service was with a smile, staff incredibly friendly, price of food & drink worth ever penny and excellent quality all round.Sat in a booth where we were able to chat, drink and eat and not be bother constantly.Would highly recommend :-)

All you can eat breakfast was tasty and everything was fresh and warm. The interior feels a bit tired but the food is good and well priced.

Food warm not hot, had the carvery, no gravy so had to wait till it arrived so stood around with plate of food getting colder. We were in a big family group so when meal was finished we were asked to pass our own plates down the table, never happened before in any eateries I've been before. Staff need better training.

Very disappointed today, used to love going to the Wilbury and then the Gardeners Arms, used to get a warm welcome a good carvery and great service.Today, walked in and waited at the sign, a very young waitress asked if we had booked, three of us, we said no we hadn't so the waitress who wasn't expecting that answer had to get another waitress to seat us, but only after checking the tablet for about three to four minutes, when it was very obvious where the empty tables were!We were seated and as there seemed to be queue for the bar I downloaded app to order drinks, not much, just a Diet Coke, glass of wine and a coffee, simple. after waiting for an eternity, put it this way the table next to us had gone to collect dinner and eaten it, I went up to the bar to ask where our drinks were! I was greeted by a 'boy' who looked hardly old enough to be in a pub let alone serve in one, who pulled a string of receipts off a printer stating it was nearly our turn, three drinks and a near 20 minute wait.Eventually the glass of wine and coke were brought over by the 'boy' but no coffee, when I asked where the coffee was I was greeted by a 'tut' and a 'huff', now I'm a patient person but this was getting a little annoying, the coffee was brought over black handled by the mug and a pot of sugars! oh dear, can we have some milk please, again a 'huff' and two minutes later a pot of milk.Well that was enough for me, we drank up and went elsewhere to eat, total lack of customer service, urgency, atmosphere in the place and no staff who looked over the age of 20! they seemed to wander around aimlessly, picking a glass up here and there, and serving the bar customers rather than those who had been seated.I can't tell you what the food was like as I would still be waiting for it to arrive 4 hours later, someone needs to get a grip and supervise the staff, but it seemed like no 'grown up' was present.great shame as this was a nice place to eat and drink with a good atmosphere, but now a 'chain' has it and it's been ruined.I will return again but perhaps not for food.

Great Carvery and I mean 4 star!!!! and the pizzas are amazing. Plenty of seating and a quirky little pub. Great value for money and a really friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

One of the best pub breakfasts around, food was lovely, venue was clean, staff was welcoming, the only downfall was you had to pay extra for mushrooms when they’re usually the cheapest of all items 🤔but then they turnt up cold.
