Black Lion Hotel Restaurant in North Norfolk

Food quality is probably the saving grace here. Seating accommodation is very poor and uncomfortable - considerable room for improvement.2/3 of a glass - stingy wine serving not necessary considering the price.May 8 2022It appears that the seating comfort and food quality have now swapped places. Although there is good comfort and pleasant surroundings the food quality is poor and does not line up with the prices. Internet menus are not what's on offer - very misleading. Still only 2 stars. Seems like a lot of places may be trying to supplement their lock-down losses.

My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic time here. The food was perfectly cooked and served in a good time. The staff are friendly and looked after us to the highest standard.We stayed the night too and the rooms were clean and well kept.Over all an excellent experience and one that we will be repeating.

Room was nice although bathroom was small and smelt. Shower was dismally inadequate and leaked. Breakfast and restaurant were very good though.

Very pleasant stay at the Black Lion. Last minute booking and Jonathan was very professional and welcoming. It was a special occasion and they really made it special. Not the most sound proof rooms, but amazing architecture. Good choice for exploring North Norfolk coast.

Attention to every detail. Fantastic food and service. Lovely clean room, well decorated, lots of character.

Cosy hotel/pub but a must visit for foodies. Excellent evening meal followed by a full English breakfast up there with the best. My guess would be that a lot of the produce is local and has a low carbon footprint. Staff all friendly and attentive without being overbearing. A very good experience.

Brilliant service, we were in a rush and they were very conscientious of that. Staff were lovely, food was delicious!

Lovely hotel. Very cute and clean rooms. Greeted straight away, friendly and very welcoming staff! Lady who spoke to us throughout our visit was very helpful and chatty with us, suggested a great gin too! Breakfast was lovely, a good choice and great quality! Definitely would recommend and go back to visit. Thanks for a great stay, Rose & Jack!

It's a hotel with a pub vibe and has a dining area that's pretty restaurant-esq with double knives and forks laid out all fancy but the lunch menu has all the pub classics so puts you in the pub vibe again. I had a very pleasant pheasant burger and a pint of one of the local guest ales which was decent. There were a couple of minor mishaps with the ordering but the staff were friendly and sorted it out no problems.
