Friendly service - well kept local beers and drinkers welcomed as well as diners πŸ™πŸ»

Friendly reception, good atmosphere. Drinks and food order quickly taken. Avoid ordering steak, though; two of ours were tough and inedible, particularly galling as it was an expensive dish.

A dodgy vegan gnocci. Before arriving they claimed to have a vegan menu, but removing the cheese sauce from a dish and serving dry gnocchi doesn't quite cut it.

Good food. Good value. If you just want to sit at the bar, that's fine. Friendly staff. Interesting decor with a nod to the past. Try the cod cooked with coriander and coconut, or the curry! Country pub arracts locals and visitors too. Nice garden in the summer.

Beautiful country pub in Wighton near Wells-next-the-sea with indoor and outdoor eating/drinking areas. Staff were a bit stretched on the Wednesday evening but they squeezed us in for a bite to eat. We ate katsu curry, plaice goujons and gnocchi. Good ale and usual range of drinks on offer. There was a relaxed atmosphere and we would definitely go back there as the B and B next door-Meadow View - is a fabulous B and B.

Small dining area but the food was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful would definitely go again the only drawback was the small car park.

Mid February in 2022 and everything was great. Staff, friendliness, service, timing, food, busyness, decor.I was chatting too much to decide and went for my default option of F&C. I was delighted. It was the lightest, crispiest fried anything I have had in blimmin ages. Fellow diners were vocally enthusiastic about their steak and the veggie gnocchi.I mention the date as the reviews of a pub/restaurant remain attached to the business through multiple changes of ownership/management/chef.The current incarnation at The Carpenters Arms made us very happy. Thank you.

Where to start..... This place has everything; rustic charm, warm friendly staff and the best food I have had in a very long time.I had the soup of the day which was tomato and roast garlic with lightly toasted sourdough bread and butter. This was simply delicious. I played it safe and went for the burger and triple cooked chips, and boy this did not disappoint. The chips were crispy but fluffy on the inside and the burger was so juicy and flavourful. Finally I had what could only be described as the best dessert I've ever eaten, which was a white chocolate and passion fruit cheesecake with a mango sauce and chocolate ice-cream. It was simply fantastic from start to finish. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
