Golden bowl chinese take away in North Norfolk

As someone who is ridiculously fussy with Chinese takeaways I can honestly say that this is without doubt the best I've ever had. Hot and sour special was tremendous. Many thanks.Dale aged 38 . Sheffield

So I recently visited Norfolk for a weekend away. I was not not keen on the restaurant I was staying at so I ordered Chinese from the only place that was close enough. The take away shop was clean and easily accessible with a clear sign. The lady who attended to me was a native from China and was very helpful despite her struggle with the language. I explained I was vegetarian and wanted something specific not on the menu. She assisted with clearing my confusion and I ordered. I had the tofu (named beancurd on the menu) with black bean sauce and mixed vegetables with rice noodles. The food took about 10-15 minutes to prepare and was piping hot when she provided it. She took my cash payment. No card payment option was available to me. The food was mild in comparison to what I am use to but one thing that did put me off was that the tofu was deep fried!! When I ate the tofu I could taste the oil and that really put me off. Plus I could see a thick layer of oil separate from the black bean sauce too. The vegetable selection was better that I thought it would be. It had broccoli, carrots, spring onions, cabbage, bean sprouts and bok choi which is pretty much all I ate from the tub. I'd say this place is average compared to a lot of other places I have tried. I'm not sure of the other items on the menu for vegetarians but I know that the tofu is deep friend so I know I would not try them.

We had special house rice and crispy shredded chicken and it was amazing! I visit here every year when i come to Sheringham and i have never had a bad meal 😋

I think we need to move to Sheringham, because this Chinese Takeaway is better than any from round our way in 'Sahrff Lahndun' (where we have so may outlets they seem to have given up even bothering to compete with each other by the cooking of good quality food!) Every dish we had tonight was very good.

Just had a takeaway from the Golden Bowl, as good as I have had from anywhere.Food was hot, tasty and good portions would recommend.

Great food and friendly staff

Only after turning up to pick up the order, we found wrong items cooked despite calling restaurant directly beforehand. They did rectify it after a wait. The food itself was very nice.

The food is of a very good quality, always the same young girl serving, very friendly. Highly recommend.
