Golden City Chinese in North Norfolk

Ordered from here for ages an away been good until today order the same thing every time and even repeats the order back to me. one item was missing on delivery so phoned to ask for it and go told they would send it out but I would have to pay for it even though was agreed with on my order shock as we are a loyal customer shame really shan’t order again

Top draw Chinese takeaway. King prawn curry is a must try, All food ordered, never been disappointed. Friendly Staff and you can pay by bank transfer. Best Chinese in Norfolk in my opinion

just spent £47 on the worse Chinese I ever had, chow mein was the worst smelt and tasted Burnt .. which is all my son eats .. took it back and owners tried to say nothing wrong with it. think they need to clean their pans as seems from the burnt taste they lacking in cleanliness .. wish I had the previous reviews before ordering... AVOID THIS PLACE !

Do not hesitate to order from here! Golden cityI have fallen in love with the EXCELLENT quality of cooking and fresh tasty ingredients. The staff are so welcoming, polite and adorable and as a local resident this Chinese is the best for miles upon miles in fact when far away for home - this is the food I crave. Great prices, great portion size, and totally scrumptious. Have tried a few different things here and every dish has become a favourite. Thanks.

Totally agree onion k comments. We are very awkward and picky. Up until now we have found it very hard to find a that we all enjoyed ..... Then we found golden city . We always get it delivered, the lady on the phone and delivery driver are friendly and polite​, delivery is quick, food always to an high standard lemon chicken use fresh chicken breast taste more favor .now we Just need to find a decent Indian takeaway now.

First time using this chinese and was not at all disappointed the food was hot, fresh and tasted amazing a big order of £56 and every meal was bang on will not hesitate to use again, they actually use fresh vegetables in their curry’s not seen this in any chinese takeaway for a long time , we all absolutely enjoyed everything we ordered

2* Hygiene Rating! if I had known this before hand I wouldn't have bothered. As for the owner response.. I confirmed the ordered with both rice dishes included!!! And rang back and discussed both those dishes on a second occasion. The fact you've written such a stupid response speak volumes to my point!!! Also the staff member repeated the order once. Saying it was confirmed 3 times is flat out a lie. Disgusting behaviour. Please everyone avoid......By far the worst customer service toppled with plain basic food. Placed an order with both chicken fried rice and egg fried rice. The order was read back and confirmed. I then sat with my husband and he didn't think we needed both so I rang straight back explaining both rice dishes were on the order but we'd like to remove the egg fried rice. The staff member found the order and confirmed this would be removed reducing the order by £3.20. The order arrived no rice. I rang them back and asked for them to send it outbut they wanted me to pick it up. You don't order a takeaway and have it delivered to then go fetch a dish they missed twice! They then said to send it out I would be charged another £3.00 delivery charge which from Horning to Hoveton is ridiculous! I explained not only did I confirm the order with both dishes included. I rang back minutes later and discussed both rice dishes and removed one. At no point did the lady say, there's no rice dish my apologies, I'll add it on.. they just delivered without it and made it out to be my fault. No apology, no replacement dish. As this was the only thing my son would eat. I quickly whipped him dinner up. Which meant mine was cold in the ebd. The crispy chilli beef was soggy with no chilli from the second it arrived. Terrible customer service and definitely not the best food. A local customer lost for good! Will never recommend. Any problems with your order you certainly wouldn't be received with a helpful response.

I just read one bad comment about golden city I felt so dis casting who wrote this rubbish comment, since I use golden city 3 years ago never had any problems with my order , the lady who answer the phone always polite and helpful, and she always repeats order carefully to avoid any mistakes, and I always listen carefully to double check am I miss any item, this is how it work to make sure everyone can got right order , not when people repeats back and you doing something different not listen then any mistakes happen and blame shop , this is totally wrong. Good customer service not including customer fault and shop cost more money to correct it, not including customer said anything shop must agree and do it if shop don’t do it then put bad comments to mislead someone who don’t know exactly what happened. How many star hygiene I don’t think is big insult about people choosing they favorite shop , if you don’t do full government paperwork can course your star hygiene lower , star hygiene is not connected to food is tasty or not . I write this comment just want to tell people who didn’t order golden city before, please avoid any comment just order from them then you will know what exactly tastes about the food . Food quality and taste I think is our first consent. Even shop got 5 star hygiene but food taste rubbish do you still order from them? I don’t think so . I felt so upset about those people doing this bad thing to destroy local small business , too many business lock down since covid 19 , if you don’t support them please don’t destroy them. Life are so hard no need doing bad things to hurt people.

What an absolute disappointment. We have used this Chinese for many years, first time we complain about the simple fact our food is cold we get no common sense from these guys.Took and hour and a half after ordering before calling to check we are getting our food, then told it’s on its way. Next call 30 mins later still no food but apparently 5 mins away at which point doing the math we explained it will be cold. Food arrives in 5 mins and charged full price, stone cold.Call up to complain, they offer one free dish on the next order and tell us to heat our “Fresh” food in the microwave, sadly at this stage I felt quite insulted and informed the owner he has lost a client. I will add he did offer after to come and change the food over, I did explain its 8.40 and I wish to eat and bed because I’m up at 4.00am so will reheat my fresh food and never use their services again.I appreciate the offer of free food in compensation but can’t believe I was told to heat my fresh food in a microwave. Not impressed won’t use again.

It was probably the worst £35 I've spent, the sauces were very salty and the sweet and sour was tasteless. Spring rolls were way over cooked, and the pancake was actually a large spring roll with a very odd tasting filling. The foo Yung was extremely dry
