No1 Cromer & Ice Cromer in North Norfolk

Went here and sat looking out at the wild North Sea and watched the sun set while eating a delicious haddock and chips. Very friendly service. Happy customers who will return

Absolutely amazing experience, we had to que to get in but I can understand why because the food was amazing. The tea was great and the food was reasonably priced for the high quality taste. Incredible and id come back.

Despite it being Easter holidays we were seen to, seated and served extremely promptly. Service was excellent and when the food arrived we weren't disappointed. I had haddock and chips with mushy peas with mint sauce. It was utterly delicious. To be honest I couldn't fault them, especially as they were extremely busy and coped admirably.Very happy to recommend.

Excellent Fish Restaurant. We came in off the street and so glad we got a place because shortly after there was a long que! I was here filming for my Weight Loss YouTube channel called Fat2Health proving that you CAN dine out experience Fabulous food and STILL lose weight. I travel the country eating in restaurants and reviewing places I've been in.We were treated extremely well. They had no idea who I was ( why should they)! 5 of us all had something different and we all enjoyed every mouthful. Very nicely priced, you get what you pay for and this was EXCELLENT!

When in Cromer,you just must have the Cromer crab…..supposedly the best there is !!Having checked out a few reviews, we decided to head for Upstairs No.1 and were so glad we did. We were advised to book a table before the visit for being the best restaurant around, they are always extremely busy.We we greeted by a lovely girl called Jodie, who we later found out was the person in charge of the restaurant ‘front office’.Jodie showed us to our table where through the window we had magnificent views of the Cromer seafront.My wife ordered the crab, and I had fish and chips. The meals were absolutely delicious, reasonably priced, and well cooked.The staff were very friendly,and attentive. Jodie went out of the way to make us ole codgers so welcome and comfortable. A smashing person.Hopefully we will be able to visit Cromer again in the future, and if so we’ll make a ‘beeline’ for Upstairs No1, to enjoy another excellent meal,maybe to see Jodie again.

Really good food - not the cheapest, but you get a decent portion. It looks like it's much cheaper if you takeaway.The restaurant itself has seaviews which I enjoyed, and they're still observing some of the social distancing rules, which I appreciated - such as one way in/one way out, most people wearing masks.

No1 A1 first class. Our second visit here. Haddock and chips the first time and roast hake the second time. The hake was excellent. The service was friendly and cheerful and the view was brilliant. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you

The food exceeded expectations! Like most brits, I've had fish and chips countless times in my life. This place was the best I've ever had. The batter was light and crispy. The fish was fresh and soft. The chips were lovely - proper chippy chips. Also, the minted peas were the perfect pairing - not mixed with fresh mint but traditional vinegary mint sauce. Even the bread and the curry sauce were gorgeous. The only negative was that the restaurant was understaffed, so we had to wait 25 minutes to be seated (there were loads of tables free but they were only seating a limited number of people) and the service was slow.

£3.50 for 3 scoops of ice cream is a good deal compared to other ice cream places in Norfolk which are at least £3.50 for just 2 scoops. The flavours to choose from aren't vast and they don't have all of the flavours advertised on their board available, which is a shame. But the ones I did try were really nice and you get a decent portion too. My favourites were the blueberries & cream and rhubarb & custard - would definitely recommend!
