Plattens Fish and Chips in North Norfolk

Used to be the best, we went today and it was awful. I ordered fish and chips and what i got was rubbery chips and batter...excuse for literally a mouthful of fish was down to inflation and that they have tonlay 4X the amount for their fish..Very rude arrogant staff and the place is a mess when you walk in. Such a shame as my family and I have been coming here for years, but this will be the last time..to say its gone downhill is an understatement

It's Fish and chips, it's simple! However if it's not done well then it's terrible!Thankfully this plaice (sorry) seems to know what they are doing.Taste golden chips, and while not the cheapest they were still reasonable in price.Call in for a try of chips, it will not be a dissapointment

Possibly the worst service I've ever received in a restaurant.Ring the bell and wait nearly 5 minutes to be acknowledged. Get brought upstairs by waiter to be told once up there, that dogs are only allowed downstairs...Come back downstairs and get seated at a small table - absolutely fine, just want some food. BUT, given no menus, have to ask for them. Finally get menus, waiter never comes back for 10+ minutes. Same story for table next to us. We both leave, absolutely hopeless.

I make a point of eating at Plattens when I come up from Milton Keynes for the best fish and chips !! Friendly staff and huge portions. I've been coming here for years, if it's really cold I tend to eat in ( pre pandemic ) it always very busy . In the summer I take advantage of the sea air and harbour wall trying to avoid the noses of passing dogs and swooping gulls! Looking for stray chips that have dropped on the floor :0) .I must try the restaurant at the side one day.

Very nice fish and chips. Very large, clean premises. All the staff were very friendly and polite. Clean toilets. Reasonable prices

Great service and fantastic fish and chips at a great price. Noticed that dogs are welcome and even free dog treats.. Definitely recommend them.

It was OK. Staggering to see plastic utensils being given out despite being in a community heavily reliant on the sea and enviro-tourism. Come on.. get with the plot! Bamboo or biodegradable utensil, please!!Certainly not the best fish and chips I've had by the sea. Fish was good but not amazing whilst chips were fresh but lacking some zing. It was a Tuesday night on 1st March, cold, grey and a bit wintery, so the restaurant gave some warmth for a while. Not exactly a nice restaurant, more like a cafe. Service was good despite the poor guy being on his own with 9 orders on from an influx of teens. They are dog friendly and my pooch appreciated the hospitality and free water.Fairly pricy if you don't mind me saying! Cod and chips £10 with a can of Pepsi weighing in at £1.60!

Had a lovely meal at Plattens, ordered a small portion of cod & chips and a cappuccino which was really good value for £6.60. As went at a quiet time, ordered at the counter and then sat in the restaurant.The lads behind the counter were super friendly and helpful and the service was really quick.Restaurant was really nice overlooking the harbour, loved all the fishing decorations that gave it great character, they also have free wifi.The fish & chips were great the batter was super light, with lots of tender fish inside. The chips had a lovely flavour and tasted freshly cooked. Really happy with everything and will certainly visit again when back in Wells-next-the-Sea.

Great place for lovely lunch of fish and chips on a impromptu visit to Wells Next The Sea. Fast service, staff very helpful and pleasant. Covid measures in place. Would definitely return.
