"When it comes to fantastic family pubs, The Running Horse in Fakenham, Norfolk, is a clear winner! Located towards the North Norfolk Coast, we’re a modern two-for-one pub with food and drink for everyone. There are two great play areas for kids of all ages, and a children’s menu bursting with yummy dinners. Our smart and spacious patio is the place to be when the sun’s out. We also have a beer garden with classic wooden pub benches. Plus cosy corners and big tables inside for those cooler days. Two-for-one meals are served every day, and we do breakfast at weekends. It’s full table service so just sit yourselves down, relax, and let us spoil you a little!"

The most amazing service and food was experienced during our visit with our mum. The staff greeted us on arrival with a friendly smile which continued to the end. We needed to adapt some of the menu for our own tastes which was carried out with no fuss. The food was very good and none of us had any complaints. We would recommend the Running Horse for a relaxed and comfortable time and will not hesitate in returning.

Warm welcome - staff polite & helpful. The Running Horse was very clean & covid aware. Very attractive ceiling & wall decor ready for mother's day. Tables as always well spaced apart. On request extra gravy was provided for us, which was a lovely touch of good service.

We booked for an evening meal at The Running Horse 18/02/22Our table was reserved on arrival by Donna and we were made to feel very welcome. Our server Arron introduced himself, and took our drinks order promptly. After receiving our wine, he took our food order. It arrived quickly and hot. My wife had the Vegan bourguignon mushroom pie with mash & Veg. It had a suet base with a flakey top, plenty of filling with baby shallots. It looked nice and my wife said it tasted good. I had Mega steak & scampi. The steak was cooked to my liking. Arron came back to make sure we were happy with everthing. Once finished our plates were cleared quickly. Arron asked if we would like dessert, but we were both too full from our mains. I would like to say a big thank you to Donna and all her staff, for the hard work and effort that they go to for their customer's. Very much appreciated. Can't wait till next week!

Door wasn't open when arrived - although it should have been (11.20am) but opened quickly by staff member who explained they had a minor kitchen issue that would delay meal order until11.30am.Staff were friendly and courteous. Waiter took order at precisely 11,30am. Good food served on hot plates and very good value. £3.60 for a 330ml bottle of alcohol free Warsteiner is, I suggest, taking the mickey!!! which is why I've only given an 8 in question 4 above.

We booked in for a Christmas Breakfast with the elves. The kids were very excited, when we got there they were not disappointed. We were met by Donna the Elf and shown to our table, sat amongst other families enjoying the same event. Our order was taken and food arrived very quickly cooked perfectly and tasted great. The kids were given Christmas tree cookies to decorate, they had colouring in to do on the table, a letter to write to the big man and at the end of the meal they were each given some presents. We all had crackers which had vouchers for money off another meal, so much better than a cheap plastic toy, a lovely atmosphere, lovely food and attentive polite professional staff. Will be back here again soon.

Not visited since pre Covid, very impressed still. Spacious car park, all clean and tidy outside and in. Staff very helpful and friendly, none wearing masks though. Only Marston's standard menu available, although the specials menu is due to return. Food very nice and we all enjoyed our seperate varying meals. Toilets immaculate, disabled/baby change toilet spacious, well laid out and immaculately clean. A big well done to the staff and Marstons for keeping a very high standard indeed.Well worth a visit for a family or a couple wanting a reasonably priced drink and meal. 👍😁

Lovely meal as usual. Had chicken and garlic mushrooms followed by strawberry shortbread sundae. Husband had hunters chicken followed by sticky toffee pudding. Delicious

Came here as a stop for dinner before heading back home. This was recommended by a friend of mine and my partners. Despite it being a mixed bag of sunshine and showers on the May Day bank holiday, we enjoyed ourselves. The food was really delicious and so were the puddings. Very friendly staff and the service was very good. Do stop by. Will be back again sometime.
