Amazing food, great wine, local beer & superbly welcoming hosts make for a most relaxed & enjoyable experience. I’m not local but will definitely return next time I’m in the neighbourhood. Thanks Tim, Nobby & chef… cheers!

A wonderful little gem Short, balanced menu, reasonably priced wine list and enthusiastic staff. Be warned Sat.nav destination was out by a mile for us.

Everyone who worked there was incredibly welcoming and really attentive. Pretty building with a lovely courtyard. The rooms were clean and were charmingly decorated. Very pretty building and the food was fabulous. I had an amazing fish soup and then lobster. All very fresh and tasty. Would love to go back.

We stayed here whilst in town for a wedding, the building is everything we love about old hotels, it’s full of character, got lots of interesting pictures and displays to looks at. The room was clean and provided everything you’d expect. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was really nice and the waitress couldn’t have been more attentive. We also liked the manager who booked us in, he was an older chap, he lent the hotel a certain charm and we felt like I was staying with a family friend rather than a hotel with a faceless service. We were Very happyIf we ever find ourself in Southwell again, we would stay here! And we have already recommended the hotel to our friends

Booked here only table I coukd get with covid restrictions .place looks grand on the outside but very dated in.rather chilly and ate my dinner with coat on. Rather elderly clientele with a very quiet stuffy atmosphere. Food was very nice. Locally sourced produce with daily specials that made up for it.

We visited as a family with our Mum, who's in a wheelchair and in her 90s. We were welcomed like old friends and treated to a superb lunch. Robbie and all the staff are warm, friendly and very professional. The food couldn't be faulted and nothing is too much trouble. Thanks for making today so special.
