The Owl Tea Rooms in North Norfolk
Where is The Owl Tea Rooms?
🏠 Janaway House, White Lion St, Holt NR25 6BA
"The Owl is perhaps the oldest tea room in Norfolk, established in 1929. Our inviting bakery displays all the homemade bread, cakes, cookies, quiches, sausage rolls & salads which we make every day on site. The cosy, Georgian interior dining room offers a wide-ranging menu of teas, coffees, cakes, breakfast/brunch, lunches & afternoon cream teas. We also serve local handmade ice cream & milkshakes & are fully licensed. Full Afternoon Tea is by advance reservation only. Our lovely spacious courtyard garden is a dog-friendly sun trap & very popular, as are our pavement tables in front of the shop. It's hard not to find something to treat yourself to here! (Dogs can only be accommodated in the garden or at the pavement tables.)"

Absolutely lovely tea room with delicious homemade food and excellent service! I would recommend booking a table, as this is a popular place, but the outdoor seating is just as great, with an events shelter and patio heaters.

Great coffee and a lot of choice for cakes! Couldn't choose just one so had to get another to go as well

My family came here for brunch. I had the Biscoff pancakes, they were lovely. My girlfriend on the other hand asked for the sweet potato avocado hash. It comes with Feta but she can’t eat it so she asked for cherry tomatoes instead. She got two and a half tomatoes. It was very small and not worth anywhere near the £9.50 we paid for it. We live in London and this was over priced for us…

Wow...what a great little find. So much choice here with a choice of sitting outside or inside. Great choice here for vegans. In the picture is Banana cake with lemon icing, Chocolate & coconut cake. Both were so good. Coffees were also fantastic and the service was second to none. We would highly recommend this place, no matter what your diet needs are.

Absolutely delicious gluten free cream tea here today. Moist, warm, homemade scones. Very busy and popular tea rooms inside and outside in the garden, I recommend booking ahead.

Stopped into the Owl for lunch while visiting the area and wasn't disappointed. We booked a table in the garden seating which was a nice little spot. The staff were friendly and attentive, so can't fault the service. There's a great selection of tasty food, including the cheese scone with cream cheese and chutney, which was an interesting twist. Now normally I would mark down a tea room for not having plain scones, but seems this is a regional thing and everything was so good I'll let it slide.Keep up the good work.👍

Made a quick stop to pick up some nutty treacle tart, only to find that the place has been refurbished and no longer serves this delight. But we stayed anyway and had the best bacon sandwich which they cooked for us even though it wasn't on the menu. Which we got to eat in the charming courtyard garden. Overall The Owl tearoom is clean and inviting with great service and the staff were really accommodating, can't wait to go back and explore the menu.
