Food is overpriced for what it is, and the menu uninspiring. Nothing really homemade. I had burger & chips - burger wasn't made in house and tasted frozen. The chips were just frozen ones (c'mon making your own chips in a pub is bare minimum). Not horrible, but not worth £16.50.The pub itself is nice but could be so much more with a few changes in the kitchen/to the produce used.Edit - in response to the owner's comments. I'm glad you take your feedback so graciously...

We had a one night stay at the Red Lion recently. Absolutely loved it. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom, great service in the pub and a fab location. Food was plentiful and tasty. Ideal, reasonably priced, dog-friendly North Norfolk bolt-hole.

Went in for a evening meal the service was good and the starter was fine but then received our main meals and the presentation was very poor the chips tasted like they were reheated and the mushy peas were over cooked and dry the scampi was fine . The lobster was like chewing rubber and was not nice to eat . Very disappointed and had the meals taken off the bill . Not as good as it was before won’t be going back again

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Good food, good portions. Breakfast very good, perfectly cooked eggs, local sausages very tasty. Thanks to Jack and Brandon.

Absolutely loved our visit to the Red Lion. The staff were helpful and friendly and our accommodation was lovely and clean and an excellent size and value for money for a family of 4. The breakfast was also amazing and had a great variety of choice for food and drinks. We will definitely be returning again soon.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Red Lion. They accommodated us at short notice after a cancelled AirB&B stay and we received a warm & friendly welcome. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and the attic suite perfectly suited us with plenty of room for a family of 4.

Must have changed ownership since we last went. Waitress got one of the orders wrong and the correct meals were pretty average at best. Hair in food. No apology from staff.

Excellent food, very friendly staff and great atmosphere. The manageress was also extremely helpful in booking a taxi for the family and in saving the day in getting out car out of the boggy in the National Trust car park! Thank you

Booked for dinner but only stayed for one drink. Unfriendly welcome and then put on the table by the constantly opening front door (the one no one wants) despite loads of free tables. Bright lights and no music, just two other couples awkwardly sitting in silence. The atmosphere and ambience were awful. I’m genuinely not one to write reviews, particularly bad ones, but I really felt compelled to write this so that a) this beautiful venue that really could be amazing takes note.

I posted a negative review yesterday after being turned away despite half empty restaurant. Today more than made up for it. Great service and WONDERFUL food. Highly recommend the burger if you go. It was incredible. Friendly staff and dog friendly too which makes a difference when you’re on your own with two dogs! Can’t figure out how to remove my last review but hoping this makes up for my other one. Thank you 😊
