Booked in for Sunday evening, only roast available and both beef and lamb quite tough. Wine prizes are crazy!!

Called in on the off chance, and was pleasantly greeted to a table for a lovely Sunday lunch. Recommend booking in the summertime.

Distinctly average food. The pub is as you would expect for somewhere a couple hundred years old. Dark wood, low ceilings. I'm sure quite cozy in the winter tho. The food was very average and I'm not sure worthy of a costly night out, as eating out now is so much more expensive than a year ago. We were meeting family and looked for somewhere we could meet up for a half decent meal. The food read and felt like typical pub 'ping' meals tho I understand the pub prides itself in cooking fresh. We had Fish 'n chips, burgers, ham and eggs. All main ingredients were tasty but lacked imagination and the trimmings tasted like they were frozen veg and chips rather than fresh. There's one daily special which one of our party had but said it wasn't very nice. Desserts were nice: apple crumble, lemon Tarte, cheesecake. They are welcoming of dogs which is nice and the owner was very pleasant. I hope they find a way to stand out more obviously from the ping meal crowd to become a choice destination.

Country pub at its best. The food is excellent and great beers too and to top it all, accommodation is very comfortable and clean with very friendly staff who are very attentive.Can't recommend this place enough!!

We have just returned from our 3night stay to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday and we were really looking forward to our break in a part of the country I had not visited beforeOur room and bathroom were good with a lovely walk-in shower. The breakfast menu was very good with excellent portions and delicious. Unfortunately it is not the place to spend a relaxing few days away in comfortable surroundings. When we arrived the waiter took our details and although my credit card had been registered when we booked, he asked for the card and duly proceeded to input the whole amount then asked for my pin whilst still hovering over me. The owner Linda who was friendly enough, took us to our roomThe first night of our stay our table had been booked for 6.45pm and as we wanted a drink before our evening meal, however, we got downstairs roughly 6.30pm and were told to sit at our table by the waiter. I noticed Linda was sat in the bar area with 2others !! The menu wasn’t extensive but, expensive as Ham Eggs and Chips was £17.95!! I asked for the specials but was told the chef was off sick and which meant specials couldn’t be offered.We ate out the following day and hoped to go into the bar when we got back after 7ish. Our hopes were dashed when the same waiter told us that we had to sit in the dining room as he only had 2tables left there. We were ushered into a dining room which was busy, told him we didn’t want to eat, just a drink and where else could we sit??? I walked around the 2 rooms and the other dining area was empty!? Waiter brought our drinks so I asked if we could move he said we couldn’t. We took our drinks and went upstairs to our room feeling like two naughty children!!!!At breakfast we explained to Linda how very disappointed we felt with the way the waiter had dealt with us, not like residents at all!!Her explanation was that they would have to talk to him again!!!! She explained about the Covid restrictions they had to implement after lockdown etc. She mentioned that they had thought of putting arms chairs, sofa’s and the like in the Bistro(breakfast room) but it would mean a lot of furniture removals all the time.We fully appreciate how hospitality has suffered during the last 2 years and relished our stay in “A Rustic and cosy little pub”!! Unfortunately, we did not receive the friendly cosy 3star customer service that we anticipatedWe wanted a little break enjoying a new area, then return to our pub to relax and have a drink before retiring for the night, sadly this was never an option.

I left feeling utterly ripped off. No atmosphere, no other customers at 1pm on Sunday, I should've twigged. No options other than a roast, not even for children. The roast was not great, lamb was so chewy I actually had to spit it into a napkin. Nearly £80 for two adults and three children ( inc. 5 x soft drinks). Will not be returning.

A fairly decent family pub with a few flaws. Credit where it's due, the fish and chips was excellent. The pub takes dogs, which was a bonus. Drinks are reasonably priced, and there was a good atmosphere for families.The major downside was the attitude to criticism. We raised an issue with the crumble - perfectly acceptable, you can't get everything right all the time. In response, we received a berating from the owner for our troubles. A very strange experience. The nachos also too 30 minutes to arrive.I think this could be a brilliant pub, but if I didn't give feedback then nobody would know there was an issue. We're obviously not from Norfolk, but it's not how I'd expect to be treated anywhere as a guest.
