Although the national staff shortages impacted on the speed of service, we'd a delightful anniversary lunch. The menu was interesting and the four dishes we had were excellent. Nice ambience and a very nice couple of glasses of wine too. Well done ✅

I really enjoyed my vegetarian starter and main meal but the dessert was a let down. My partner had the same thing and neither of us could finish it (it was a caramel creme pastry thing that had passion fruit sauce on it that just tasted really odd). But other than the dessert, we really enjoyed the meal and the service was excellent.

Great experience all round. Food was amazing, atomsphere was really nice (we sta in the marquee as a table of 7) and our waiter was great. Very polite and couldn't do enough for us. Will be back again when in the area.

Didn't stay overnight, but stopped for a drink in the pub. It's really cozy inside and perfect for a cold night! We sat by the fire which was amazing!

Lovely atmosphere and good food. The two of us turned up without a booking on a Sunday night and were given a table. Each of us had a starter (duck leg croquettes and rocket salad, which is actually a side, not a starter) and a main (burger and a beef Sunday roast) and left very full, unable to finish off the food. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The food took a reasonable time to arrive - not too long, not surprisingly quick either. 4/5 and not 5/5 because while food was good, there is room for improvement - my Yorkshire pudding was too dry and potatoes could have been cooked better (taste could be better; there were raw-ish bits in the potatoes); the meat was delicious. However, having said that, for a pub, food quality was pretty great, especially in value-for-money terms - we paid just over £50 in total for the meal (including 2 half-pints of cider, but excluding tip). Another point was that the menu could be slightly more diverse. The pub is dog friendly (even has a water bowl by the bar) and has an amazing real fire place, which does a great deal for how it feels inside. Overall, would readily recommend this pub to friends with the aforementioned caveats.

Really good food. Had the duck croquette (very big - so suggest sharing between two) followed by the pork ribs. Staff were incredibly friendly and polite and had a wonderful atmosphere. Only drawback was that the service was slightly slow (probably because it was so popular).

A dining pub, we didn't eat but prices looked reasonable and it was clearly a very busy pub. Nice seating area by the woodburning stove if you just wanted a drink. And our dogs were made very welcome. Very nice 😊

Fantastic food. Brilliant and helpful staff. Have visited several times over the winter and now look forward to a meal and a drink outside in the Summer. Parking is 30m away.

Popped in for much needed coffees after a long walk. Excellent service, even though the young lady said that they weren't open yet. Coffee outside, in the sunshine, on their terrace. Thank you very much

We were a party of four. We all loved the atmosphere and really enjoyed our meal. Three of us had the hake meal and thought it wonderful. Friendly efficient service. We would definitely book a meal on a future visit to the area,
