Golden Place in Norwich

Favourite go to take away! Everything is delicious and super hot. Have tried mixed starters, crispy seaweed, salt and pepper chicken and chips, whole duck and pancakes, pancake roll, chow meins, crispy chilli beef and others and all has been delicious! The satay sauce is not for me, but everything else is great!

Can be very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, which is a good sign , the food is of a good standard and choice, the portions are very generous and on orders over £10 prawn crackers are free , we like the chicken curry , and the meals for one are a out standing value enough for 2 , would recommend this place for a take away.

First time I've this takeaway. My food was very good. Generous portions. I'll go again. Not the cheapest takeaway but great value for money.

WELL where do I start? Negertive ratings first, HOW can you be critical of a hard working family trying to bring you a taste of there country? Those of you that have left negative feed back, I hope you go and try other Chinese takeaways and learn your lessons and we will see you again no doubt!!

Although the food is amazing, the portions are sometimes too small compared to other Chinese take away shops around. This is especially relevant to crispy beef, duck, small spring rolls, cantonese beef, sweet and sour meat, beef dishes, pork dishes and similar. They do the best Chinese food in Norwich, but the portion sizes of the meat dishes are sometimes very bad, and the person/young child that answers the phone tells you 15/20 minutes, yet you get there and your chips/chicken balls/spring rolls are soggy and noodles/rice are cold as they always overestimate their time frame.They are very reasonably priced on the other hand, and as I said, the food is amazing, so I keep going back even though the portion sizes are bad on meat dishes.Rice, noodles, chips and bags of crackers are always full up which is nice, but they do sell cheap frozen small spring "pancake" rolls for a lot of money which is a little steep given that you can buy 10 for £1 at tesco, yet they charge something like £3-4 for 5. You can't tell me that tiny bit of electricity to heat the oil is warranted of that mark up.They often give you a free drink which is nice, and they are always very friendly.If the portion sizes improve, I will change my rating in the future, but for now, it's a three star for me.Good food - Good prices - Bad portion sizes of meat
