Jamesons Fish & Chips in Norwich

Looks as though I was the unlucky one. Good friendly service, decent chips (good variety of potato), tasty batter. But the haddock let you down badly. the way the meat fell off the skin and the pallid sheen suggested it had been out of the water, or more likely, defrosted far too long. It was edible but had none of the distinctive flavour of a fresh haddock, just a dull, bitter aftertaste. I've had worse but not much. I wanted to try Grosvenor for a long time & I expected much better. Ah well, back to the Sheringham Trawler.

Great food but randomly got an extra portion of chips which wasn't needed and they forgot my garlic mayo so took off one star!

lovely visit here this evening. I've lived in Norwich all my life and never visited! we sat downstairs and we all had an awesome meal. The ordering and paying couldn't be simpler then they bring food to you on lovely little trays. The chips were great, chilli con chips was a huge hit with our non fish and chip eater! The cod was dark golden, puffy and seriously meaty and the High Sea was a real treatWell done guys, clean tidy, well laid out, good service

After extensive research, The Grosvenor comes in as the top chippy in Norfolk. Whilst the unaware might imagine Norfolk would be stacked with quality F&C offerings 9what with it being big on coastline etc) this wasn't borne out in our tour of the county over years. Go to the Grosvenor, it's lush.

Excellent! Food was hot and cooked perfectly. Staff friendly and attentive. Looks small from the street, but the caverns below provide plenty of seating and a great ambiance. Sensible prices. Highly recommended.

If you want fish and chips in the city this is the place to come. Great staff, great menu and seating too if you need to rest your feet. Cracking grub.

Great food and helpful staff always have a smile on there face and if there is any kind of problem they are fast to rectify it in addition the atmosphere is great they have great music and decor that makes the whole dining experience interesting. would recommend 10/10

Chili Con Carne contained no Carne. I like this fish and chip shop but I hate paying for something that I could make better at home with my eyes closed. Mild cheddar used too, cheap skating it with bland ingredients. Chips were great though, just do better with the other stuff

Nice fish and chips, had to wait a good 10 minutes to have it cooked though which seemed slightly longer than I would expect. Read lots of raving reviews about the place but although it was nice cod and chips I was probably expecting slightly better. I've had many fish and chips in Cornwall that matches or betters this

Had dinner there today and none of us was expecting such generous portions!Big burger and tasty fish!
