Very nice pub food, staff were also very friendly and attentive. A couple of items were missing or wrongly stated on the menu, but thankfully the choice was good enough to find alternatives without an issue. Good value and would return.

Went here for my birthday lunch and I had the best time. This isn't your average 'pub grub' this is very high quality food without any of the gastro pub nonsense. Couldn't fault the staff, very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. What really makes this place memorable though is the beautiful interior and the ambiance it creates, it's the best bits of a British pub without any tacky brass tat on the walls! Oh, and the value was unexpected too, a family of 4 had 4 mains 4 desserts, 2 pints of beer and a glass of wine for £100. Fantastic. Keep up the good work guys 👍

I had a meal recently at the Marsh harrier and was not that impressed. I even sent them some feedback but had no reply so thought that I would tell my story. The place is lovely but the food is very small portion wise. When we visited it was freezing in there and my mother had to wear her coat to eat her dinner. It is dark aswell so you really can't even see to read the menu.Service was ok and the staff were friendly.I do have a pet hate with this silly little dishes to put the chips in. I know they want to save money but it is only potato and that is a cheap thing to serve.9 chips for a meal I think was just a joke.Overall wasn't impressed at all.And it was pretty much the same the last time I visited a year before.

Expecting chips in a basket but got so much more. Great food and setting. Flavoured ciders in particular were very well liked. Tables very well spaced and pub felt well.ventilated.All meals were of a good standard. The only thing letting them down being a hard boiled poached egg on fishcakes. Service was friendly but failed to respond at all to a request for a jug of water and needed two requests before child entertainment provided. Otherwise it would have been five stars. Strongly recommend the restaurant.

We visited as a party of 14 booked in for a Christmas lunch. Jen greeted us and checked a couple of items on our pre order. Her attentive service to us throughout the meal and patience when we were paying the bill separately, shared by several couples was exemplary. The dishes came out promptly and the steaks were cooked as asked, so compliments to the kitchen staff too. Jen and another waitress, sorry, forgotten her name ,are a credit to the restaurant and it has encouraged us to re visit soon.

The lady who greeted us was so nice and welcoming. She made sure we were looked after despite not having a booking. The food was excellent (I had scallops and prawns for starter and then a steak)The pub had a cozy feel and a decent selection of drinks.

First time eating here, after hearing good reviews. Not an amazing experience to be honest, I am going to assume they were short of staff. Really not that many covers on at the time we were there. Waiting times to have food and drink served was considerable. Food was not hot, seems like it had sat on the plates for a while before being brought out. Flavour was good but lukewarm food is never good. The roasted garlic had not been roasted at all, just cut in half and put on the plate. Desert was nice but didn't require cooking, so not much to do wrong there. Unfortunate first experience but an honest review unfortunately.

Mid week catch up with old work colleagues. One very efficient waitress who was almost running the restaurant single handed. Food was delicious with a wide choice and various options available. Two minor mistakes made but noticed by the waitress so quickly rectified.Very reasonably priced good ambience all in all lovely evening catching up with good food and drink.

We have passed by here many times without stopping, but yesterday we finally did and I would say it was a good choice. Jennifer greeted us with a smile and, even though we had not booked, she immediately made herself available to find us a table. we ordered two Sunday Roasts, accompanied by local beer and cider. all very good, fair portions and honest prices. we will definitely be back.
