Ruth’s Kitchen is amazing, we’ve just had a very delicious lunch. My falafel and hummus wrap tasted so good and my husband loved his shawarma wrap. I tried a piece of the lamb, it had a lovely flavour. This is my new favourite place for lunch!

New favourite restaurant. Great, personal, friendly service and the best food I’ve eaten in Norwich.

Drawn in by the great reviews however much was left lacking. The owner is a great salesman and charming enough but I question the authenticity of the dishes. Supposedly he had been told his falafel was the best some of his customers had ever had, and while nice enough, was nothing remarkable. Our meal was essentially some fried chicken breast that was drowning in a bowl of hummus and roast vegetable. I don’t normally care too much for presentation if the flavour is there but this had neither. The addition of even more tahini on top of the dish makes it more like a soup, and the potato wedges was a sad looking plate of halved potatoes that had a clearly had an extremely brief encounter with any kind of seasoning. The place is also filthy and a borderline hygiene risk. It’s hard to give it anything more than two stars based on the experience as a whole. How this establishment has achieved a 4.8 rating is beyond me, did we have an anomalous experience or are the people of Norwich truly deluded?

This lunchtime I went to Ruth’s kitchen and purchased a take away Falafel Mezze box. I was already a little alarmed by the less than tidy food preparation area, broken glass/perspex in the salad counter and seemingly zero hand hygiene - sadly by this time I’d already paid.Ensuring I don’t get food poisoning is pretty high on my agenda at the moment. So when I returned to my office to find literally 10s of human hairs in my food I was absolutely appalled and beyond incensed. In my hunger I ate one falafel without even looking, disappointingly before my partner noticed atheist first hair poking out of one of the others in the box.Upon further inspection I found lots. I split one in half to find I had literally been sold falafels FULL of thick, cut, black deep fried hair.I retuned the box, they told me it “must just be a mistake”. They claimed it must have been the girl making the salad who was off work today and that they had an EXCELLENT reputation. which I can see from the swathes of positivity in the other reviews.Regardless, there is no excuse that could explain away the volume of bodily matter in the mezze box.I appreciate mistakes happen, and I accept one or two stray hairs, but it was like someone had their hair cut into the falafel mix. I genuinely believe this establishment should be condemned until there are reasonable efforts to serve clean food from a clean environment.

Absolutely delicious, Everything freshly cooked to order, I had the Shawarma Lamb Wrap with everything on it and my son had Falafel Wrap with everything on it. HUGE portions. The bread is soft and doughy and the filling cooked to perfection. Flavour sensation and the best wrap I have tasted in a long time. Authentic, Fantastic people and defo coming back for more. Thanks for bringing your cuisine to Norwich, Highly Recommend xx

Excellent food, really friendly too. Walked us through the menu and recommended the perfect option for us. Would be very happy to go again.

Ruth’s Kitchen is my favourite place to eat in Norwich by far!! I’ve been many times for lunch and it’s always amazing. Equally great for a sit-down lunch with friends or for a quick takeaway. Fresh ingredients, fast service, brilliant staff and very generous portions.Today we had the shakshuka which had incredible depth of flavour. Beats all the shakshukas I have tried in London restaurants! They have different specials each time I go, a nice drinks selection and sweet bites for after like tahini cookies. Everything is proper fresh and homemade. Check it out!

Good food is all I need to go through quarantine. 😍The food here is incredibly delicious and invigorating. Perfect for vegetarians/vegan. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Israeli food is one of the best. Definitely recommend.

Very cosy, warm restaurant. The owner is very friendly and patient by explaining their menu very detail to us. Their food is really delicious and it comes with a huge portion. We didn't manage to finished all the food at last but the owner gives us a takeaway box to bring it back. 👍👍 The restaurant is quite small and pack. So, if you're a group of 5 or above, please make advance booking.
