Lovely hotel in perfect position in Norwich . A lovely welcome by a very helpful lady on reception. Our room was very spacious as was our bathroom . Such a quiet hotel and the best night's sleep in such a comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious ,nice and hot and the perfect portion size and the waiting staff very nice and helpful. My friend I will most definitely be back for another stay in such a lovely hotel. Thankyou you all for such a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Booked a junior suite as a treat following a trip to Norwich theatre. The suite was disappointing and not what I would call a suite. Just a very large room and large bathroom but felt jaded and down at heel. I Googled the building which has the most interesting history sadly nothing about this in the room. The tiny TV was so far away from the bed that the remote barely worked. The magnificent chandeliers had bulbs out.The taps in the bathroom were worn and stained - you could not use the rainfall shower only the hand held one.The integral plug in the basin also did not work. There were multiple extension cables serving the lights. The radiator in the bathroom was grubby, tiles needed re grouping and no extras that I would have thought commensurate with a suite. The staff were charming and the breakfast excellent but I have stayed in more luxurious B&Bs

Thankfully we only stayed one night. I was hoping for the price (£190) for a really lovely stay as a treat. The room was very small, stains on carpet and thick dust behind bedside table when I moved it to plug in a charger.I had asked for a room with a bath, told my room had a bath, but unfortunately this was not the case.As other reviewers have mentioned, the room was very hot (in October) but it was very noisy with the windows open.We had our evening meal there which was very expensive for fantastically average food.My son slept on a zbed which he said was very hard and uncomfortable. This was also positioned so as to block the wardrobe so we had nowhere to put our things. We travelled with our dog and our room was a very long walk from outside so it was not easy to quickly take him out for a wee.We were made to feel very uncomfortable eating breakfast there with our dog too despite being told it would be fine and they would allocate somewhere for us.Just very tatty for the price and feel like we got a worse room because we had our dog, even though we paid extra for him.It was very disappointing and it makes me very sad.

A smart old building converted for modern use. Good bar and lounge, and our bedroom was excellent. Food menu a bit 'standard pub food-ish', but we understand, taking with the knowledgeable and helpful Euan in the bar, that they have plans to change this after Christmas, and upgrade it. Close to the shops, Castle and cathedral, and with its own car park, it was a real treat

Euan was amazing! Showed us some great cocktails and made sure our parry was well looked after this evening! Thank you so much again St Giles!

Stayed here a few times now as it’s very well situated for the town centre. Staff were friendly and welcoming although the room was in need of redecoration. Given 4 stars as the main gate to the car park and door leading from the car park into the hotel was permanently left open, making it feel not as safe as previous visits.

Reception staff excellent, helpful and professional on arrival and throughout our 1 night stay. Had a full English breakfast...delicious. Room spacious and very clean.

Friendly, welcoming, helpful staff. Spacious, clean room with everything we needed, topped off by a later than expected checkout of 11am and a really good breakfast in bed! Not a huge variety on the menu in the restaurant but what we had was excellent and again superb service. We would definitely visit again.

Part 2 of 2 cont.........The room was turned around for our evening reception where we had another 50 guests joining us – at no time did this feel too many within the space. There was a slight overrun on the turning of the room, but with the bar downstairs, the lounge that we had used earlier and an outside terrace all open and available there were plenty of spaces for us to greet our guests before moving back to the Walnut room. We had a buffet in this space (I personally didn’t actually get to try this due to getting wrapped up in all the celebrations and congratulations!) but the feedback we’ve received has been very positive as once again the kitchen team delivered. We’d ordered some cupcakes and these were kindly presented on the buffet along with more of the cheese from our wedding cake. There was plenty of space for guests to dance, but also have a seat or just a catch up in the walnut bar adjacent to the walnut room that was also open for our private use.A miscommunication in regards to the upstairs bar closing prior to the event ending was quickly resolved and the celebrations continued through to their end at which point we retired to the honeymoon suite that we had booked for the evening. The room was gorgeous – very ornate and definitely worthy of its title. It had a separate seating area, multiple bathrooms! and is a truly stunning room to retire too as a married couple. In the morning we had breakfast in the restaurant – much like all the other food we had been served this too was wonderful. Served really promptly with, again, really quality produce and lovely service. James had put aside the leftover cupcakes and cheese for us and packed it up for us to take home – the team at St. Giles really did go above and beyond to look after us throughout our dealings with them and help make it as special as it was. We can’t wait to hold another event there – the space, the staff and food were amazing – it’s a gem of a hotel and we feel really, really grateful and lucky to have found it and had our needs accommodated. A massive thank you to Jade and the team.

Lovely older style hotel, public areas well maintained and the service was lovely. Bedroom and bathroom was spotlessly clean, well furnished and bright and spacious. Not a great view from balcony window but did not detract from our stay. Visited the Spa which was amazing, again super clean and the girls were really sweet and good at their jobs. Thoroughly enjoyed both the beauty treatments and our overnight stay. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely visit again.
