This is really a review of two halves. The afternoon tea, admittedly on Valentines day, was for us OK but not a wow on the food front. The overnight is WOW, I shouldn't share this:) but rm 12 (it should be given a name as with other rooms no doubt) must be one of the finest bedrooms in the UK, very spacious, beautifully designed and importantly, even the plumbing and lighting is well designed. No ringing ahead here to start the large bath fill, it is super quick..do not go off and faff around on your phone! The designer is to be congratulated...they certainly know their business.

This weekend we held our 10 year wedding vow renewal.I am a bit lost for words. The Assembly House was incredible in all aspects, planning, the day, service, food. Just everything!Naomi and Jamie were just amazing start to finish. All the staff were fabulous, the afternoon tea kept flowing before we could even ask for more. You made our day our of this world and we will forever be grateful for everything you did. Thank you x

I’ve lived in Norwich for quite sometime now and I can’t believe it’s my first time coming here.It was for a friend’s wedding, on 22/2/22.I was so so so impressed with the level of customer service the staff exhibited. They went above and beyond. Nothing was too much for them. My partner came late to the ceremony and they even made sure he had a plate saved, as it was just after the dinner service. The food and venue were also outstanding. Can’t say enough lovely things about this gorgeous place. I am definitely coming back and so so look forward to it.

Absolutely beautiful. Our room was lovely and the afternoon tea and breakfast was divine. Staff were incredibly friendly. Will definetly be back.

Lovely breakfast for 7 of us aged from 3 to 89 years. There was a vegan and a vegetarian amongst us and we were all well catered for. The children were able to order what they wanted without sticking to the menu. The staff were helpful, courteous and friendly. The place was very clean and the food was appetising. We were able to take our time and didn't feel rushed.

We recently played in the Music Room at The Assembly House - what a wonderfully magical historic setting for a wedding breakfast & reception! Plenty of photo opportunities for wedding couples. It makes a great space for a ceilidh, dancing under the fantastic chandeliers. We liaised with the staff a few weeks beforehand to sort out access to the building and where we were going to play and I've got to say they couldn't have been more helpful - totally professional. On the day it all went very smoothly thanks to the assistance and patience of all the staff. Couldn't help but notice how perfect the tables were set for the wedding breakfast. The only down side is the lack of parking that belongs to the venue. There is paid parking behind or adjacent to the building or you could use The Forum, across the road - all a lot cheaper in the evening.5 stars for the unique historic setting & very professional staff.

My family and I stay here every year for my birthday. We have stayed in 4 rooms and have loved all of them. We also have the high tea which has always been well worth the price.Staff are friendly and welcoming. I look forward to my birthday stay next year!

The Assembly House can be found on Theatre Street next to the Theatre Royal in Central Norwich, very close to just about everything that Norwich has to offer. This is one superb hotel, with old style rooms finished to a very high standard. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for their excellent and very friendly staff. Our two night stay for a family wedding was brilliant to say the least, both the ceremony and reception were catered for on the Assembly House site, making it a very memorable stay. Our sincere thanks go to all the staff for making this a perfect weekend.

First time having an afternoon tea here. It was fantastic! This was the first day of a new unicorn themed tea. It seems expensive until you see what you get! The three layered serving plate was full, and that didn't include the scones that they cooked fresh when we were part way through the 2nd layer! Staff were lovely and there was no rushing us to finish. Any leftovers were boxed up for us to take home.

Been for afternoon tea here 3 or 4 times now. Always delicious. The sandwiches were fresh and soft. All the treats were Halloween designs which was a lovely twist. We also had the loveliest waitress who could not do enough for us and was so attentive to every customer. Will definitely be back for a 5th time.
