The Bengal Spice in Norwich

Had a lovely meal with friends in The Bengal Spice. Food hot and very tasty.

6 of us arrived near 10pm last night and the staff accommodated us so well. It was probably the best Indian meal I have had in Norwich. The vegetarian options were out of this world. Thank you to all the staff who put up with us, sorry for staying so long but we will be back

Usual, run of the mill, "Indian cuisine". Not exactly true Indian tasting though. We ordered Chicken Biryani. Not happy with the food. You cannot simply mix poorly cooked kebab with rice and call it Biryani! Besides, a blunt tasting vegetable curry coming as default side dish is, well, let's just say, confusing!! Pricey, but then it's a kinda tourist spot and high street. Staffs were cordial and helpful.

Edit - they hung up on me twice this evening for absolutely no reason, I wasn’t remotely rude they just didn’t want to deal with just eat issues. Unforgivable bad service. Justeat have no way of contacting them when an order shows out for delivery. They kept telling me to sort with just eat. Don’t sell on their platform if you can’t handle it.

I had a tandoori duck starter and the "cottage beef special" (hot!). Both excellent. Also a top-notch sag bhaji, dry and delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you appreciate good food from this area of the world.

Relatively quiet mid-week visit but standards of food and service were very good. I had Duck Chilli masala. Super hot but delicious. Wife had Prawn Pathia which she also enjoyed. Staff were attentive and friendly and spoke to us about the menu dishes plus their experiences and family in Bangladesh. Very enjoyable visit.

Food was great and super fast, bottle of moe under 50.00 and food vv reasonably priced. Restaurant needs a bit of TLC, but we were there at 6pm in full daylight and sober, so you see more."HIGHLY RECOMMENDED "

The very best Indian takeaway we have ever had. Everything from rice meat naans sauces just blew us away. We will always order our Indian food from this wonderful restaurant!

Nice food, nice staff, nice enough surroundings (bit bright/clinical). Yup.

We came to celebrate friend's birthday. Very nice food, reasonably priced. Amazing tandoori chicken and king Prawn shashlik full of flavour! Portions are very generous so if you're not a big eater skip the starter. Staff friendly and efficient. Gladly would come back when in Norwich again.
