I booked a table for a Sunday roast dinner and had very high expectations due to being fully booked weeks ahead and not accepting walk in's. I booked for 3 weeks time. Unfortunately the roast dinner was disappointing. The chicken was dry, the roast potatoes were so hard I couldn't cut them, they weren't edible. The Cauliflower cheese was bland and very hard too. The 3 stars though goes to the friendly service.

Absolutely gorgeous roast dinner today. We arrived a little early but waited in the warm at our table. The atmosphere was really friendly (the staff are all lovely) and the food was wonderfully fresh and delicious! The free doggy roast dinner was a hit with my dog Evie. We’re looking forward to going back soon.

We absolutely loved The Black Horse. Five of us booked a table for lunch everything was perfect, the staff were great, the pub itself so thoughtfully decorated and furnished and the food was amazing such a good combination of flavours on each dish it was outstanding. We all felt that we'd found a hidden gem of a place. We will be back as soon as we can. Thank you.

Great pub, our vegetarian friends impressed too, strangely, they had vegetarian options at the start of the mains, followed by meat and fish options. Small menu, but straters are like small meals, so had 2 of them, which made good size meal and same price as a main. We all enjoyed the food. Prices are very decent, cosy atmosphere.Glad they welcome dogs too. Loads of covered and heated seating outside too

Beautiful surroundings, a pleasant atmosphere and staff who can't do enough to ensure you enjoy every minute of your visit. Easily one of the best pubs in Norwich, get yourself booked in, get yourself a drink and have yourself a great time. Oh, and did I mention how good the food is!

Lovely place, delicious foods. Love the mulled wine.I have to edit my review because my daughter got food poisoning after had dinner hear. I'm pretty sure something not right in her fish n chips because when we still waiting for family, the staff brought fish n chips kid meal for us but we said we didn't order. I'm not sure the fish n chips my daughter ate is that dish or different one but she thrown up in midnight, fever and diarrhea for 2 days. Still not get better until now. I'm not gonna risk my kids health again so won't come back.

Really cosy, clean local pub, perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon reading the paper or playing board games with friends and family.Great atmosphere sitting outside.Consistently good food with a very good wine list.Lots of options for veggies and vegans.Staff were attentive and friendly.I would definitely recommend a visit.Probably the best roast/ Sunday lunch in Norwich I’m my opinion (we’ve tried a lot).

Lovely pub hidden away from the tourists. Has a cool vibe and lovely staff. Shame when we went the weather was so bad. Food was good and drink's plentiful. Well worth the money. We had the meat platter with a fish an chips.
