Jade Garden The Chinese Take-Away in Peterborough

Great food, super tasty. My favourite Chinese restaurant.

Food was ok but found a very sharp piece of plastic in my fried rice. It was the first time I’ve eaten here in years. It’s got new owners and I don’t think I’d return.

About 15 years now I have used jade. The previous owner, staff and food were great every time. The new owners and staff sadly have no idea. The food has gone from being the best to the worst. They just can't get anything right. Will no longer use this poor take away. New world around the corner has stepped up to the challenge.

I don't like luncheon meat in my food to bulk it out. I would prefer more beansprouts. The rest of the food is not wholly traditional Chinese. Having lived in the orient, they do not seem to be able to replicate that flavour, it is not as they say in their menu 'traditional'.I note the hygiene rating for this place is at 4 but their menus say 5. So they have dropped a point which is fair enough, many of these places drop a point now and then.The waiting times for food is really quite poor comparing to other Chinese takeaways. Often I have waited between 1 and 3 hours to get my food. I'd the don't improve then I will rate the a flat zero

Ordered king prawns and vegetables (excellent) also ordered mixed vegetables curry for a vegetarian. When veg curry arrived my wife ate some chicken that was in it. Rang and complained. A fresh veg curry was sent out. That also contained chicken! Vegetarians beware that veggie dishes may be contaminated.

Spring rolls ***Egg fried rice **Plain chow mein ***I didn't sample much of the menu so my review may be a little unfair. I'll happily amend if I have a better experience next time.Very average Chinese food. Inexpensive but nothing to get excited about from what I tried.DEFINITELY need to improve their egg fried rice game if they're going to get me to eat here more regularly.

Greasy food. Taken over an hour than expected to deliver. Crispy shredded beef was soggy, the chow mein was under cooked and greasy. It’s a shame we used to live at jade garden every Friday 5+ years ago. Now I wouldn’t even recommend a friend, and if things couldn’t get worse, they missed a dish off our order. Wok and eat for the win.

Unfortunately very let down.We have been going Jade Gardens for more than 10 years, but after today i can certainly say we will not be going back !! Barely Edible.Every single item we had purchased has changed there must be new owners or a new chef but unseasoned, under cooked and over cooked. The only thing i cannot fault is the crispy pancake rolls.Even the curry/sour Sauce has changed with no flavour and watery.I would normally stand by but to have paid over £40 for me and my family and nobody even finishing a plate we will never be going back.

Grotesque, chicken and beef dishes had no flavour and could be compared to sink water. 3 sauces supplied hardly tasted any different from each other and none of them particularly good. Whatever oozed out of the chicken balls was enough to turn my stomach and looked like it had run out of a nose. On top of all this my normal Chinese takeaway (royal china) was closed and this turned out to be more expensive with terrible quality. would not recommend

Terrible customer service. Used Jade Garden for many years until this evening, they failed to deliver a curry sauce which was required for the meal. Wife phones them to ask where it is and the woman at the end of the phone was very rude and said it was not ordered, no apology or offer of delivering it. I heard my wife order the sauce. The meal was useless without it. Will not be ordering from them again.
