Authentic taste of indian veg food, sizeable portions of dishes, service is good, overall value for money. the only strange thing was Vada Pav was served without Pav i.e. bread though it was mentioned in menu this was slightly disappointing but tasty food made up the mood

Just got home from the most amazing Indian dining experience I've ever had! Wow! Greeted by warm welcoming friendly staff. My other half and I opted for the tast of India experience, where were treated to the chefs special selection of the most tasty starters from deconstructed samosa to beautifully maintained mutton chops. Then followed by six of the most exquisite dishes from different regions of India! Each specially crafted by the most skilled chef who personally came to see if we were enjoying our meal at witch point if he had proposed I would of said yes! I can't wait to go back to try the dosa! Thank you for such an incredible meal!

I have passed Banyan Tree millions of times but never been inside. I was invited by a friend to join on yesterday (Saturday). However, I was a little worried since I have many food allergies and wasn`t sure but I decided to give it a go. For a starter we had veg samosas - fresh, crunchy from outside and tasty. Main a main course - chicken in tomatoe sauce (sorry cannot remember the name) which was succulent, very tasty, meat was tender. For side dish - rice and naan bread with finely chopped garlic. I loved the taste of fresh naan bread with garlic so much I even asked for another one ! I have ordered cucumber and melon drink - what a refreshing and pleasant drink. The place interior decor is combined between European and Far East (India) and works well. It`s clean, nicely decorated, relaxing, welcoming. Also, the service was really nice, helpful and friendly. The waiter was was very nice and explained which food contain ingredients that I am allergic to and should not eat. I definitely enjoyed my time there and will be coming back :)

honestly so disappointing and massively overpriced. "seekh kebabs" are the size of child's fingers in both length and narrowness, "biryani" (veg) is £8.90 for some very large and hard cooked broccoli in stiff yellow rice. in london i can buy a larger + much better prepared portion for £3.20. i would mind the price and food quality less if the service was at all reasonable - but after ordering in person for takeaway and specifying ONLY that i would like mint sauce provided - when i came home i found instead: a large tub of raita (which i did not order), a large tub of ? ("curry sauce"? which i cannot identify and did not order) taking up half the space in the bag - and then, when opening the container of 4 "seekh kebabs" (which all put together would not even make up one regular seekh kebab), a comically tiny pot of mint sauce, which was finished before even 2 kebabs had been dipped into it.only giving 2* instead of 1* because the food was not actively harmful, just insulting. absolutely do not recommend.

This is our absolute fav Indian place!! The chilly mogo is beyond delicious, I cannot find it anywhere else! The lunch specials are such an excellent price, it seriously cannot be beat. Definitely go during lunch and try the three course specials.

We stopped off at The Banyan Tree restaurant in Westgate on a long drive home to London and I must say the food and experience was divine! Absolutely delicious meal, we initially thought we had ordered too much, had our young boys with us too but we finished it all. We had some lamb, mysore chilli chicken, chicken makhani and some chilli prawns, with some garlic and butter naans - all the spices and flavours were spot on, service was amazing. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant, must visit if you’re in the area.

I can consider this visit as successful. After lunch at "The Banyan Tree" I am able to write that I was satiated and spend time in a great atmosphere.A typical Indian music that gives the climate. The decor also allows you to feel like in India.Men who served me meals was professional and very kind and attentive.I do not know, but maybe because I was alone, I was often asked if food tasted good I think that this is an advantage. Everyone working there, except for the waiter, is from India so I believe that no one is able to undermine the taste of meals. For appetizer I ordered 'Veg Manchurian' (spicy vegetable dumplings wok fried with eastern spices and a little twist of the orient) always as I order the appetizers their taste knocks me down in a positive sense, it was also this time. Delicious, so I recommend it! I asked for a dish that reflects India and the waiter recommended it to me 'Bhuna Ghost'(succulent lamb slow cooked in a medium heat massala with whole spices and a hint of caramelised onions.) I was not disappointed, the dish was good and in my taste.I recommend this dish because I feel the spices that are important to me.For the dessert I ordered a specialty from India 'pistachio mother kulfi'(pistachio ice cream in a pot) served in a special dish. I also sipped 'Mango Lassi' .All dishes were served very nice. The waiting time is good and affordable prices.
